Cake and eat it springs to mind. In this case the uk has a policy to reduce infections. Folk have been quick enough to criticise lack of uk actions. Why risk a fine ? Just wait or go somewhere else. What are other airlines proposing in other countries regarding carry on luggage? The airlines themsel...

Mark, that link won't work as it says I've reached the free article limit. I did just see that Lufthansa are resuming flights before the page disappeared. I'm not sure anyone knows how flights will go until they start. I read a few weeks back of a German flight being turned back from Sardinia as th...

Costakid and companies will realise they only need maybe 2/3rds of the office space. Maybe itcould become real low cost housing

Re: Wild Animals on the Loose ?

We used to see foxes in Spain, usually when driving home late at night. Had Boars outside the bottom of our garden too and they used to make a real mess of the golf course. Saw mountain goats when we used to go walking near Ronda. Lots of foxes in UK. I feed them leftovers but recently the badgers ...

Re: Public Transport under Threat

What social distancing was there on the limited services?

I have some sympathy with a company operating under such circumstances. It may all be a ploy to get some form of government assistance especially if the profitability of the service was marginal before CV19.

Re: Coronavirus

katy, I think most people are bored with CV19. That is the issue. Most people are just itching to get back to a degree of normality be it jumping on a plane, going to the pub, going to the beach or the shops. Just who is going to police social distancing and adequate measures? Or will it be as it wa...

Re: Coronavirus

But New Zealand quickly put a block on anyone coming in. How will that work in a Europe hell bent on widespread travel commencing again at the end of June? Does it matter where we are talking about? My comments were just to illustrate the bizarre nature of what can and cannot happen. My OH spent a f...

What is safe and what is not? Apparently ...... It's too dangerous to allow schools to reopen to educate kids..... It's too dangerous to allow public transport to open...... It's too dangerous to allow shops to reopen.... It's too dangerous for dentists to reopen unless the government supply them wi...

Re: Coronavirus

I think we will see a lot of changes. Only the best cafes/bars will survive eg those with big outdoor space. Lots of free office space as companies see the savings in working from home. Maybe the offices freed up will become affordable housing? Lots more electric bikes and the marvellous but dreaded...

Re: Coronavirus

There was a piece on BBC news about UK dentists. Might be the same in Spain. There is a significant cost in PPE and extra protection. They didn't say but no doubt we, the customer, will pay. The cost of some of the PPE had gone up 6000%. Maybe that is why some dentists in UK are not opening just yet...

Re: Renta 2019 - Gestor dates

Thanks Sid. I have enough in the account for end of June and the November payment goes out on the fifth Nov from memory.

I will get onto the gestor just in case he has forgotten to do our submission in the CV19 chaos.

Renta 2019 - Gestor dates

We are using our gestor for our tax return.

Does anyone know if the dates have changed (pushed back due to CV19) ? Last returns by date submitted to tax office and the date the first payment goes out of your account?

Re: Coronavirus

Dentists in Andalucia. Have they reopened? What changes have they made? I saw one suggestion was for the patients to wear protective goggles that were a cross between swimming goggles and wrap around sunglasses. It didn't say whether they were single use. I have been trying to get an appointment for...

Closing borders doesn’t mean not doing trade. In the UK ( for example) the shelves have been well stocked with Spanish salad produce throughout the last 12 weeks. Lorry drivers are exempt. The borders are closed to Juan Bloggs wanting to go to another country for a holiday or to see a friend. Meanwh...

Agreed. It is somewhat disconcerting to see schoolboy howlers being made regularly across the world. With each country employing so called experts to "lead the science". Things like adopting best practice from other countries ahead of the curve. e.g. one way systems in supermarkets, disinfecting the...

Well I certainly remember the days when the news reported ...the news. You believed it. Even something as impossible as a men sent in a large bean can to the moon and back. Clearly impossible. Now we have predictions of the news with footage to sensationalise every aspect. For example a fire burning...
