Don`t know anyway round it all, this is normal for AOL personally I wouldn`t touch them with a barge pole. I worked in IT in the UK with over 200,000 customers and our system would not work if you where using AOL so we advised all of our customers not to use them.

I am only going on what their Bank Managers told me when I applied for a mortgage, a friend of mine has also been told the same when he applied for a mortgage (he was also refused after proving income of nearly 40,000 pounds a year).

Sounds about right to me, take into consideration that if you have any problems ie- your tenant decides not to pay the bills or rent or even leave the premises at the end of the contract the solicitor will take the probelm to the courts at no extra cost!

We completed the drive from Bilbao to Marbella in ten hours, the boat was a 2 and half day journey but actually great fun. Well worth it.

One more thing required for a Spanish mortgage is proof you can pay it back ie. Contract of Employment or if self employed the relevant paperwork to prove your earnings say from your accountant.
