Re: Motorway tolls into Portugal

As a frequent user of this toll I road, I now drive through on to the first petrol station and pay in cash. On more than one occasion it has refused my Spanish card on the first attempt, accepting it on the second attempt, only to take the toll fee twice from my bank account, this results in taking ...

Re: health care through working

Yes Elusive, that´s is more or less how it happens. I can´t add much more except that if they get you caught - you get caught..... and it does happen regardless of what other people might say.

Re: health care through working

Make sure you are quite clear on what they are offering. and they said it is all contracted to a minimum set of hrs a week. They may contract you for the legal minimum set of hrs a week and pay the rest in cash, I understand (but this may not be correct) the legal minimum is 8 hrs a week/month? Cant...

If you are creative there is a place in Tomares, Sevilla near Leroy Merlin where you can buy all the stuff to do it yorurself, and not just tiles, they even have a Kiln where you can take your masterpiece to be fired. If you would like directions just...

Wi Fi signal booster

Does anyone have experience of or recommendations for the above . We have a movistar router (is that the correct term?) which is in the centre of the house (very old thick walls) and is ideally placed for indoor use, but I would like to use my wifi gadgets outside on the patio:)

Re: Venison

Always seems to be available in our part of Andalucia, on the menu or from the butchers. I pay around 7 - 8 euros a kilo, seems to make no difference if its frozen or fresh!!! Make great stews with it.

Re: Condado de Huelva???

Go shopping in Carrefour, Aldi and Lidl at La Palma del Condado and over the bridge at Bolloullos Par Del Condado and you are sure to meet the English folk who live in the area. I think you will find there are quite a few! A place we like to eat in Bolloullous par de Condado (dont know the name) but...

Re: Spain to Portugal Toll Fee?

Yes there is, its automated card payment, you have to pull in just after the bridge. You can also pay at the first service station you come to.
Cost depends on size of vehicle, where you are going and for how long.

eg: day return to faro airport family car €9.38

Re: Free Spanish classes

You need to ask at the Ayuntamiento. They take place in our village with adult education in the afternoons where you sit in with the Spanish who are doing or re doing their graduado. Most the foreigners here (in our village) are Eastern Europeans.

I know of someone who is training to be a dog trainer and is looking for someone´s dog to work with, not sure of his level of English though. May be Matalascanas is too far out?? If you are interested I can get his details and pass them on.

I imagine not much use to you now Val, but for this kind of thing I go to the Charco de la Pava Sunday market in Sevilla. Especially good for picture frames.
