Re: Dressmaking patterns

Whn I used to sew, many years ago,I bought a magazine called Burda. This had patons, but you needed a special paper to draw on top to get the correct size of what you wanted.Never found individual patons though but times may have changed.

Re: Knitting

Lynn, thanks so much for this link.
I do a lot of knitting and always have problems finding the right wool for the pattern I am using.
Lately I have been bringing back wool from U.K.In future I will try ordering.
Thanks, Bunty

Re: Andalucia - what do you think?

I have lived a third of my life in a Third World Country ,have dual nationality and a house there but... things are so bad I am frightened to return. It makes me sad to see that people can find fault with such petty things... You don't know how lucky you are just to have the right to be able to live...

Re: Ordering from Amazon

Like you, princess peach,I also started to use the book depository after reading about it on this site. I am really pleased with this site. It means I don't have to spend time looking for any decent second-hand books .I also no longer have to half fill my suitcase with books every time I come back fr...

Re: Dental charges

Lavander, Did you first go to your G.P. and get referred to the dentist who works for the Health System? Two of my kids ,who were only students then about 14 years ago, had their wisdom teeth taken out for free. One even had to go to hospital to have hers out.One was in her late teens and the other i...

The Health Service do take teeth out for free at least!
This includes wisdom teeth even the difficult ones which need to be taken out in hospital.

Re: Bank Holidays in December

I think you will find that the 7 December is a public holiday in Andalucia. Also the 2 of November the same. When a holiday occurs on a Sunday it is transferred to the Monday. At least this is how it works in Andalucia.

Did you know that the Feria of Orgiva starts this Thursday and will be on till the weekend. One day they give out a free p...

Ryanair...keep your fingers crossed!

Ryanair are having a meeting on Monday to decide if they continue to use Granada airport or not for international flights. It seems that they haven't been payed the money they were promised from local businesses etc.............
We might complain at time about Ryanair but we would be lost without them!

I have also come to the conclusion that the signature pads in Mercadona are worthless........... Once, a few months ago, I was a bit slow in signing and by the time I went to sign there was just a blank screen and the girl was handing me my ticket. She told me that it didn't matter that I hadn't sign...

Re: Passport or not?

Passports were the first thing I sorted out for my kids when they were born.I always liked the idea I could travel whenever necessary with them.It was probably easier then as they could be added to my passport and didn't need a photo.Nowadays it seems a bit ridiculous that they have to have own pass...
