Interesting! I never buy lottery tickets anyway so just asking out of curiosity but if it is UK residents only then they should have notices warning people in the shops that sell them, particularly in tourist areas. Might be an interesting one for trading standards - and Richard Branson who lost out...

If only the health service could be so efficient at weeding out the fictitious addresses and get rid of some of the NHS fraudsters! Do they allow you to play if you use a correctly registered Spanish address? I wasn't aware it was restricted to UK residents, after all they sell tickets to holidaymak...

Yup, didn't know it at the time though  A friend of my son built it for me. Unfortunately it's not a laptop, it's a pc so would have to lug the whole lot with me but I don't use it for business so it's not as if there's any critical files on here, maybe I'll just keep it till it croaks then bu...

Just had a look, you can only download it if your running genuine Microsoft Windows :( Last time I looked at that option they wanted about $175 to upgrade and I didn't consider it worth it as I still get the security upgrades. Will have to make do with save documents on the hard drive, it's more tha...

Thanks both :) I already have an external hardrive (250gb, hope that's enough) that I just use as a back up at the moment and then only when I remember  El Cid you assumed right, currently XP and of course a new one has to be Vista though I'm told it's much better now than when it was launched...

That's the trick though, making sure they are honest :? Also competent, it's no good having an honest one if they're not very good. Fortunately, there are one or two recommended solicitors in our area who we can try. Any idea what happens if the buyers choose the same one? A possibility as the one w...

If you use the windows file transfer thingy (another computer numpty here  ) can you store everything to a portable hard drive and transfer later to a new laptop? Asking cos I'm thinking of leaving pc with a good home and buying a new laptop at the other end. The alternative is to save all my ...

I realise the responsibility lies with the new owner, the newspaper report seemed to be suggesting that where they fail to do this then councils are simply continuing to charge the previous owner :? Of course we all know the level of in-depth reporting that's carried out here so it was probably just...

After you've sold ...
... what happens about bills like IBI, basura etc.? I had assumed that as there is a check to make sure all debts are paid before signing at the notaries that you're responsibility ends once you sign the property over to the new owners. However, the Costa Almeria News did a story about rubbish colle...

Slightly different scenario as we were all UK resident at the time but when we had my late father in law staying with us for a short while we were able to register him as a temporary resident and our doctors were very happy to see him. If you are staying in the same area for a while it may be worth ...

I bought a new Lexmark all in one (X2450) recently for a fraction of the price I paid for my last printer, an Epson. I've been very pleasantly surprised by it, even the ink usage is economical, which I didn't expect as it's a single cartridge for colour and black. It would be expensive if you obeyed...

Re: Selling Your House in Spain
The most memorable bad selling point that I have ever witnessed, was when I had made an appointment to view a house, and the old man had 'passed away' during the night, but when we arrived , his Wife insisted on showing us around the property, and the old man was still lying on the bed, covered wit...
