Re: buenos dias

Ha ha! Actually, when I posted that, I did think to myself that - given the increase in whiskers on my own chin, as I age, maybe it's not so weird. My tweezers are my friend lol.

Re: buenos dias

La barba is a weird one. Beard should be masculine, you'd think.

Re: Newbie Residencia

The main problem we had with my driving license exchange, with the gestor, was the day she (finally!) e-mailed us to say Trafico had confirmed all well with DVLA and I could go to her office in Torre to sign the paper which would then get returned to Trafico and they would issue a temporary permissi...

Re: Newbie Residencia

Great, concise info for anyone about to go through this, PavAmber. I was in a complete tizz when my OH and I did ours and was helped and encouraged so much by the kind people on this forum. Fyfin was particularly helpful, I remember. Our only difference was we didn't know the copia simple was accept...

Re: Changing UK license for Spaniah

We did ours via a gestor. OH's took 3 or 4 months, mine much longer but at least all we had to do was wait for it to arrive (and nag the gestor, occasionally). Cost about 100 euros, including the medical.

Re: Registering with Endesa

The difficulty for Wicksey and me doesn't appear to be the registering. We have been accepted, it's just that clicking the link in the e-mail, which is what is supposed to activate the account - doesn't. Everything went through fine, NIE, account no. My OH is going to try to do it on a mobile app. H...

Re: Registering with Endesa

Thank very much, all - much appreciated. That would explain the tiny amount then and the larger sum which is pending payment is our electricity used in the last 2 months. Our last bill was in April and we had our Smart meter around that time, I think or a bit later. Wicksey, it's frustrating that we...

Re: Registering with Endesa

Hi fyfin - I think we are OK re bills, we have put our name over the door and our own correct number plaque but the meter is directly under the wrong number. We have been getting mail OK - although we do have a new postperson! We did manage to look at SOME bill details on the site (can't log in yet ...

Re: Registering with Endesa

Hi Wicksey - pulling my hair out here and started on my OH's - and he's got very little to spare! We are at exactly the same point you were at when registering with Endesa. Did they eventually accept you? We really need to access our bill details as we haven't had a bill through the post for the lat...

Very useful, costakid, thank you! Will pass that info on! Am I right in assuming you take the Rincon de la Victoria turn off the motorway?

Re: A nice beach?

Hmm.....after some deliberation and Googling, I think I'm going to suggest the Cala del Moral. Many thanks Elusive and Costa Kid. This looks the nicest, bearing in mind the more picturesque type beaches are Nerja and beyond, really (in my opinion). But they won't want to go further than Torre del Ma...

A nice beach?

Can anyone recommend a nice beach between Malaga and Torre de Mar? We have visitors coming out and after picking up their hire car and leaving the airport, they want to stop off at a beach for a couple of hours before getting to us. Something easy to find from the motorway, please :)

Los Tablones

Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay for 3 nights at the beginning of May in the Los Tablones/Cigaronnes area, please? (Near Orgiva). I've seen the places on airbnb but wondered if anyone has any personal recommendations.

Yes, ditto for us - we did it the same day we obtained our green "residencia" cards at the police station, copies of the cards were essential.

No, of course not, FAL :) If our experience helps someone, that's great. Things do seem to change rapidly though and of course, who knows what Brexit might bring.

Re: To reside or not to reside...

Hello 'tis I! The person in the link! We did take copies of our bank statements, both English and Spanish but they weren't accepted. They just showed our monthly pensions basically (and outgoings) - we didn't and don't have large sums in our bank(s). As for not providing a padron....... I can't reme...
