Re: Parcel of land

The problem is one of "Administrative silence"; after six years (currently proposed to be eight years) these illegal builds become "recognised" unless someone has taken action against them. Near me they are still building without permission and unless a neighbour puts a denuncia then these illegal b...

Re: Parcel of land

. These "sheds" cannot have luxuries like inside partition walls and you will never get a habitation licence. Without that you will never get a domestic electricity supply or mains water and worse still you will not be allowed to live in it. Sid Hola Sorry Sid but these days in Andalucía you can ge...

Re: SETTING UP A NEW GROUP

Hola
Yes there are forms - but from the Junta not the Ayuntamiento. The President, Secretary and Treasurer are required to be named and if I remember right, 12 names of "responsible people"

The above was 2010 so well out of date - but gives an idea so you need to ask

Re: Smart TVs with UK apps

Hola

I seem to remember that the TV companies are now having a spat in that they are making their own software which is not necessarily compatible with normal Android systems. The view being taken was that every new model would get further along the diversity path

Re: Well Water

Hola All wells should be registered but there are only 2,000 legal wells in my area with 16,500 illegal houses with (mostly) illegal wells. However if you want to rent your house for short periods, as in holiday lets, then you must get it certified as drinking water in Andalucia and some other auton...

Re: Well Water

Hola
If you rent your house out, then the law has changed regarding getting the water in potable (drinking water) state.

I know of nothing else that has changed

Re: Question for El Cid - rainfall

Hola I hate to dispel the myth but rain gauges are automatic these days, the cup fills and the weight means the heavy side rotates downwards which allows the cup to empty- so it rises only to fill again. The whole station is pretty much automatic even having a solar panel to recharge the batteries. ...

Re: Question for El Cid - rainfall

Hola

I have a weather station www.chiclana-weather-station.org and the rainfall for 2017 stands at 466mm; I would expect in excess of 600mm a year - 900mm being a wet year.

Re: Buying from Amazon...

Amazon UK have also become unpleasantly aggressive with Prime, and it's spreading to .es etc. Many items only available Prime, and if you buy one of these, you are automatically signed up to the 30-day 'free trial', at the end of which you will be charged. Previously, signing up for Prime was somet...

Re: Unplugging during thunderstorms?

I don't think any of the surge protectors available on the market will save you from a close lightning strike. If you are dependent on your electronic equipment you should unplug it if the thunder is nearby. Well said - there's not much you can do about a true lightning strike - just have insurance...

Hola

Lovely post - I actually took a picture of the crystal blue sky this morning as my brother in Canada said "Nasty overcast day with an expected high of 17C" and there was I sat overlooking the golden sands of the beach on a sunny day in this paradise that calls itself "España".

Re: What can I drive?

Hola 19th February 2013 all European countries agreed to make all driving licenses the same. Therefore if you have a modern photo licence, it is exactly the same in all 28 countries - in theory. There are some differences between countries but basically if your licence says you can drive a particula...
