Re: Classic fm
If you have a look here www.lyngsat.com/Astra-2F.html there is a list of the channels currently on the UK beam. Classic fm and the travel channel are I'm afraid 2 of them.

Re: BBC & ITV on Intelsat
Technomates worked fine with them. Not all Technomates. My 6800HD doesn't as it doesn't do such a high sr as I mentioned. Nor does it do the low one that is MUTV on 10E but that's another story. Didn't know the BISS key was changed last month but as it doesn't affect me here in the UK it's not a su...

Re: BBC & ITV on Intelsat
As Cid has pointed out they are encrypted but the current BISS key is , ahem , available on the internet. My own receiver will not cope with such a high sr in DVB-S2 so I cannot try them. I keep saying I'm going to get the full story on them from an ex-colleague who still works for Arqiva.

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
I'm with the pessimists on this one. If you look on the web I haven't seen one report from the CDS of reception of 2F. The nearest is along from Almeria. If you look at the UK spot beam on the ses website and the guess on the a516digital website you will see why I think this way. There are a lot of ...

There is a video over on www.diariosur.es showing the river running through Villanueva del Trabuco. As it is being filmed the side of a building collapses and several vehicles float out into the river!

My Thomson 585 failed some time ago. The wi-fi wouldn't work yet inssider showed a signal from it. With a cable it was fine. Five years isn't bad for some electronic stuff these days. Wonder if it's overheating?

Re: Telescope recommendation
I got a cheap shopping channel telescope as a Christmas present but I find it disappointing. Looking to buy a better one , maybe go for a Celestron. In the meantime can I point you in the direction of the excellent free program Stellarium that shows the night sky in real time at your location. Worth...

Re: Lost bbc news channel ?
Just done a scan on 10803 and 11 TV channels appear on there including CBeebbies , BBC 4 and News. Trust us they are there! Another thing is what receiver are you using? When they have enough channels they won't add anymore. Try deleting the transponder and then adding it again and scanning.

Re: Lost bbc news channel ?
We have bbcnews and bbc2. Don't realy understand the link, with the no reception problem. If a receiver other than a sky or freesat box is in use then a retune is required. Those boxes cope with it automatically as they get the data which tells them the frequencies. Other systems such as my motoris...
