Re: 3 keys not functioning when trying to log in

We had an Advent laptop come back from repair and several keys wouldn't work. Had to google it on another pc and it was the num lock that had been pressed.

Re: Skynettv

Must be a different advert to the one on page 30 of April magazine that states a dish is required. Noticed they also mention a Tring system , wonder if the recent 'events' at a satellite shop in London have stopped that!

Re: Skynettv

Cid - Are you saying you don't need a dish with their 'service' ? What normally happens is you still need a dish to receive the signal and the internet connection is used by software in the box to connect to their server for decryption purposes only , in which case a 1Mb connection would I expect be...

Sounds like they are running an illegal server if it needs an internet connection.

Re: Plug and NO play dongle

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Mobile-B ... d-p/420649 is the link to these issues. Can't find Motorola nor SM56 when doing a search but it is Vista and I'm not too au fait with it. There don't appear to be any Vodafone entries in the registry. Doesn't matter what I do , the laptop over writes the O...

Re: Plug and NO play dongle

The problem is when you use an Orange dongle on a machine that has previously had a Vodafone one (and maybe a 3 one as well) You need to remove all traces of that hardware and software for the Orange one to work. It's not as simple as just removing the program. There is a thread on forums.vodafone w...

Re: Plug and NO play dongle

I think I'm having the same issue. It's fine on 2 laptops but the 3rd (which is the one it's for) won't install. This has had a 3 dongle and a vodafone one in the past. The former seems to be giving the trouble , on install the orange device reinstalls drivers for a Motorola SM56 data modem for some...

Re: Wireless Standard ??

I'm looking to replace my ADSL modem router (ie not cable type) here in the UK as the wireless part goes faulty if I drop the power off for any length of time (the psu interfers with my amateur radio reception so I have to) Was looking at an N , it's supposed to handle several connections / streamin...

Re: Brazilian TV - FTA Sat

Did wonder if you might ask that! C band uses frequencies around 4Ghz rather than Sky and many others which is Ku-band (10-12 Ghz). Generally a bigger prime focus dish (rather than offset) is used and the lnb is different. Right and left circular polarization is used as opposed to V and H. Don't kno...

Re: Brazilian TV - FTA Sat

There are some but varying degrees of difficulty. Record TV (Sky 801) is the easiest and is available much stronger on 19E. Look on kingofsat and you can channel search for Brazilian channels only or maybe ones that have portuguese as main or option language (such as Euronews). They are some religio...

Watched a couple of things on there but recall they have a large annoying web address quite prominantly. Prefer iraqgoals.com myself , there are others as well. What are you wanting to watch? The quality is not wonderful from these free online streaming sites.

Re: Problem receiving channels via Pace box

Is this a case of a failing psu where the capacitors go? Some channels are lost before others. Bring your freesat box over and use that.

It's also on Eurosport. They were a bit late yesterday and you could see the heat was a struggle. Not a problem here in the UK. Might be ground frost in places tonight!

Have you tried something like soluto (free) ? It tells you how long each prog takes at start up and what can be removed to speed it up. Don't know if speccy also does this.

There is usually a black plug covering the socket that you need to pull out.
