On my Dell W7 laptop I have to change the audio output to HDMI output rather than the default one. Will be somewhere in the audio setup.

Re: Works in IE8 but not Firefox

I use FF 99% of the time but find there are sites it doesn't like. eg I was wanting to print something today and ff said 2 pages but IE said 8. You should get a little icon in the bottom right of the screen to change rendering from one browser to another with the add-on.

Yes Cid, I also have use of a flashy Lexmark wireless printer in addition to my Epson but it's not possible to get sensibly priced cartridges for it.

Re: Printers ?

I've an Epson SX200 which I believe is very similar but doesn't have the LCD screen and am happy with it. It can be a bit slow to kick into action but I've always liked Epson printers. I use cheap cartridges here in the UK and the quality is fine for home use. The Epson is £60 and the Canon £70 in A...

Watchdog BBC1 tonight

Can't see another thread about this so I'll draw your attention to the prog at 8pm BST as there is a report about properties in Spain now scheduled for demolition. PS - don't shoot the messenger!

Re: 32" TV (world cup approaches)

We don't have two different language soundtracks in England (afaik) (can't comment about Scotland or Wales) on digital terrestrial tv. Had a look at my Samsung and there is some kind of audio option using the tools button on the remote. You may be able to select it via that way. I watch certain sate...

Re: Numpty HD TV Question

ITV HD is only on ch 119 on a freesat HD box. On a Sky box it is ITV3. To find out if your Sky satellite box is HD try channel 143 which is BBC HD, if so then as has been mentioned you add the channel. It does sound like your tv does not have a freeview HD tuner (DVB-T2) just a standard one ie (DVB-...

Re: 32" TV (world cup approaches)

Have to agree with Acen on this one. I've a 32 inch Samsung (stunning pic when fed with HD source) but wish it was bigger. However , as it was a present I can't really grumble. Might go in the bedroom for digital switchover here next year and a bigger one in the living room. There are issues with ps...

Re: SKY Card PIN

Are there any interactive features????? Don't know. One of the few satellite boxes I don't have is a freesat box. Perhaps markw can answer that. I installed one for my parents so may have a play next time I'm at their place. I don't expect it as the BBC interactive I think isn't working yet and you...

Re: SKY Card PIN

When/if Sky news, Fiver + Five US goes FTA Im going to get a Humax HD+ box and bin Sky. But its too early for FTA HD channels and I do love Sky news, especially as we dont get Uk papers anymore!!! (no internet at home either). Sky News is fta. You have to add it via the non-freesat mode on a freesa...
