Re: going back

I applaud your decision as I am sure it was not an easy one. However your timing for your children is spectacular and also your selfless motives. In my experience, this would not have been remotely considered by a lot of parents. From me and mine I truly wish you and yours the very best of happiness...

Re: woudnt it be wonderful if I could speak spanish

You know I love going into my Spanish local for a drink....yeah I can hear you all saying "of course you do" but being serious here, I love going in there because the daily life evolves around you, and to our pleasure we are included in this daily evolution. Today we called in for cigs and...

Re: Computer for Pleasure

I would have agreed with you Katy, about facebook, until a few months ago. I joined Myspace as I received and invitation to do so from a community group I am involved with in the UK, but I have not got a clue what I am doing on there  . My eldest daughter asked me to join facebook, and as thin...

Re: woudnt it be wonderful if I could speak spanish

I truly understand where you are coming from, and yes it is hard for many of us. Some lucky souls manage to slip in and out of the language like natives, but in my experience we all struggle to an extent. I have been here in Spain some considerable time, but being honest a lot of this time was spent...

Re: with all that rain....

Yep that was a wet Saturday and a big clean up on Sunday for us (Tidal, OH and self) Seen nothing like that since we have lived here. Rain came down all three chimneys and flooded into the rooms. Only Tidal and myself were here at the time but we managed to keep two mop buckets fully manned. Part of...

Re: No sound

Hiya PP Sorry I have not been back to you but I have been manic with work. The adrac...lol that you deleted is actually AVRack which is a media player which comes with your sound drivers. Your particular sound card I believe is on board, needs the AVRack. You can use other media players as long as y...

Re: Cornflour

I always made bread by hand and never with my food processor, but the bread machine seemed like a very good idea as I am pretty tied up with work and looking after my mother. I am still amazed at how easy it all is, that easy I can let the menfolk take turns

Re: Cornflour

I have just made my first loaf of bread and still have butter dripping down my chin  Heaven !! So easy, I just could not believe it. I was going to thrash OH within an inch of his life for allowing me to break into a sweat making bread by hand all these years, sadly he sensed my mood and left.....

Re: Favourite Soup Recipes

I have a passion for making soup but I have to say that with a pressure cooker and a little imagination anything is possible. I generally chuck things in depending on what I have to hand....

Re: Cornflour

Baking Powder is known as Polvo de levadura but do not quote my spelling. If you have a mercadona nearby they have this where they keep the flour. They also sell this in Lidl in sachets which come I believe in packs of twelve. They also sell self raising flour in Mercadona as well as wholemeal flour...

Re: The difference in a few hours...

I also went away for a few days, which is very rare for me, however family commitments dictated I had to attend. We sent off from the Granada region about lunchtime on Thursday and the minute we hit the outskirts of Murcia the rain pelted down. This continued into the Alicante region, and continued ...

Google in Malaga

This snippet of news might explain why the Google cars were seen in Malaga. I am sure I read something on this forum about seeing the Google cars around Malaga.

PAD's post is over 2 years old! She could have been and gone back by now

Ah ! I have to confess I did not notice that at all. I was talking to my granddaughter back in the UK whilst glancing at the forum.

I should pay more attention
