Re: Handmade Cards

I am surprised that no one has suggested selling your cards online, as well. A friend here in Granada sells her cards and crafts via the local markets, but also via Ebay and her online shop. She prints the web site address on the back of the card so when someone buys a card, they do have the choice ...

Re: Energy saving tip.

Pressure cookers are brilliant have had one or two for the last 30 odd years and would not be without one. They do far much more than stews and soups and if anyone wants any recipes for them I have a shed load. I also have a slow cooker which is brilliant when I am working as I can prepare the meal ...

Re: what do you do here

I would kill for some spare time with which I could do nothing. This spare time thing eludes me to be fair, I spend most of my waking hours running around like a headless chicken trying to make sure everything is done and dusted. I really am not being factious, I truly do not have a spare waking min...

Re: What part of Andalucia do YOU live in?

Same as V Dubber but I actually live "Underground" full time. My location is certainly campo although 5 min drive to the town. I have also moved about a bit whilst I have been in Spain, and whilst I love it here I am not sure this is where I am going to remain. I am just not sure where I want to liv...

Re: Chinese Products

Sid that was seriously not a criticism, I know where you are coming from. Identifying the source of an allergic reaction is a nightmare. I tend to trust the reaction and then look for the cause. E621 is a nightmare for me, and often I have not realised until I get the reaction and then look at the l...

Re: Chinese Products

I have found that MSG is also labelled as E621. I might be the exception to El Cid's findings but I most certainly do have a very bad reaction to MSG. Further to the main topic on this thread. Seems that Chinese sweets might be contaminated and on sale here in Spain. http://www.typicallyspanish.com/...

Re: Looking for Jane Sebburn

Can't use facebook or similar, she is in not in UK. Kamila why can't you use facebook to find your friend? It does not matter if she is not in the UK. I have found a lot of my friends via facebook and clearly I am not in the UK, and neither are a lot of the friends that I found :?: Maybe I do not u...

Re: Flour

You can get self raising flour here and it is called Harina de trigo con levadura (Mercadona) Frankly I no longer bother just buy heaps of plain flour and baking powder which I buy in a pack of ten sachets at lidl. They are called Levure Chimique but most shops sell baking powder which is levadura e...

Re: Where do you...

I guess I do my bulk shop in Lidl every two weeks, I also get my meat there as it is a franchise and the butcher is local and is very cheap but has marvellous meat. I sometimes go to Mercadona depends what I need, other than that local supermarkets Upper and Coviran and local fish shop and veg shop.

Blimey I need my sunglasses for these pages they are a bit 'In your face' However I like the current default text size, but you can change this at the top right of the page with the icon that looks like a capital A with up and down arrows ( thought I might mention this as not a lot of people notice ...

I have a distinct summer and winter wardrobe. Each are packed away carefully at the end of each season and stored under the beds. I currently have two double wardrobes full of clothes and have had to put all my jackets and suits in my daughters wardrobe as she is living on the Costa Blanca at the mo...

I have to confess that I have been avoiding Chinese food since coming to Spain due to the high levels of MSG. This latest bit of news further strengthens my resolve.

Mind you having said that even Bisto Gravy granules has MSG now  What is the world coming to? Thank God I do not use them

I am not usually suspicious of these type of questions, however if I ever ask them I use the policy 'I'll show you mine if you will show me yours', and I also found the lack of response a little bit of a niggle. So Starlet why are you asking and how long have you been here and would you ever return?...

Toffeeboy I was in exactly the same situation as you are in now but I kept the little stray I found for far longer than I actually thought I could, and because I kept posting on forums and harassing the life out of people, in many different ways, I was lucky or rather Slinky was lucky that my pleadi...

Oh please do not get me started on this one. I have today finished a business listing for a charitable organisation who rehome animals. It broke my heart. I give charities a full business listing on my site but that does not feel enough for me and I want to take all these little waifs and strays hom...
