have lived here 6 years and never been asked to show this card ... am asked for my pasport sometimes at supermarkets when I pay the bill ... but no-one has ever asked to see any other documents.

have friends who live there ... used to be a small country town with some interesting history ... now easy access granada airport, more flights from UK, brits buying property, prices rising, 2500 new houses planned around perimeter ... mayor owns some of this land so scheme will probably go ahead de...

think you might be right, silver, some sort of tick, have 'googled' to learn there are some 850 different species of ticks ... also fall into 2 categories - hard ticks which hang on in there and soft ones which take what they want and go ... I dont wish to know any more! ... except I am hanging onto...

I always manage to survive without a doctor ... well so far anyway! ... googled ... no-see-ums are said to be midges and these little critturs dont fly ... rather they lie in wait in the foliage and then strike fast!

to lis48 ... your approach seems a good one ... is it too late to apply hot water to affected areas as its nearly 24 hours since I was bitten? and also how long do you leave hot water on the bite/s? my knee is now nearly twice its normal size!

Sometimes I get bitten in the garden by a tiny creature which is black, about the size of a pinhead and leaves a pin size bite in my flesh which then swells (sometimes cant even get my sandal on if bite is near ankle!) and is really painful for several days. and Nerja was just a tiny fishing village ... I took a night flight from heathrow with 2 small children ... first morning bus along the coast ... asked a woman where we could stay ... 'in my house' she said and so we did the ninos and I for a week ... just swimming and watching the fishermen ...

Malaga airport 'terminal' was then just a simple small sort of 'hut' ... and staying in Cordoba one time, was out late listening to flamenco in a bar, got back to pen...
