Re: Importing a 1991 BMW convertible.....

Thanks Cid. i really appreciate the input. It is a lovely car for the money, thats why I'm interested. Even if it lasts (engine wise) 18 months then I will have had my moneys worth. My E30 in Ireland has only 27,000 miles on it. Its a real garage queen and only gets out on dry sunny days (yesterday ...

Re: Importing a 1991 BMW convertible.....

Excellent information guys, thank you. It gets better. The vendor sent me an email dropping the price to £1000 sterling. Its a 325i convertible in lhd and only 80k miles on it :D . This is looking like a good deal. Keep the comments coming please.

Importing a 1991 BMW convertible.....

Am I insane to even consider it ? Its a LHD currently on UK plates and has 80,000 miles. What would be import duty roughly ? The only reason I would consder it is that I have an E30 convertible here in Ireland and love it to bits.... so it would be nice to have a "classic" in the sun as well. All co...

Coffee culture in Spain.

In Ireland we have a great coffee culture and some really good coffee shops. As an observation I note a lack of good coffee shops where you can have a "real latte" etc etc & not a coffee with foam on top 8) . I must admit that I can remember a time in Ireland whenn all coffee was from a jar (pre cel...

Re: Sachs motorbikes in Andalucia ?

Thanks spanish lad. I just wondered if these are available. They are very funky but "quiet" so I wont be like a spotty youth with a race pipe on a scooter  . I'm a biker here in Dublin & just need 2 wheels to get coffee etc when in the sun.

Re: Tankers/Ships off the Mijas Costa Coast

Does anyone know why there are at least 7 tankers/ships close to the coast around the Fuengirola/Calahonda area????? Some have now been there for over a week :? Its the same here in Ireland. There is not enough work for the freighters so to save mooring fee's they anchor offshore while waiting for ...

Re: Funeral insurance

I'm curious here........... As an insurance broker (Ireland) I get people in their 60's looking for life assurance all the time. Why not look for a small level of life assurance (€7,000) to cover the funeral ?

Re: Price rise for hold luggage

Aer Lingus now check the weight of hand luggage (max 6 kg) at check in desks in Malaga. As I only ever have passport & credit card wallet  it's not an issue. But the funny part is that after being checked for weight.... you can then go to duty free and buy 10 bottles of champagne at 1kg each ! :?
