Re: ID during passport renewal

For the past 3 years I've always used my photo DL as ID when paying in shops nobody has said its not acceptable, I never carry my passport around as it far to costly and difficult to replace if it gets lost or stolen. ali

Re: Where to buy a large rug?

I've bought traditionally made rugs in 2 shops in Competa. I wanted a specific colour for 2 rugs and the lady in the shop phoned her supplier and my order was agreed. The shop is next door to Cafe Competa opposite the big car park. I think you could go and ask if her supplier would make a rug to the...

Re: Advice please about Spanish Septic Tank

Thanks for everyone's reply. The end of the tale is that OH found the buried inspection hatch, uncovered the tank and pipework, found blockage, local pumping out expert arrived, said type of tank should not need pumping out for 10 years or more but was installed at a time when new to Spain. Upshot of...

Re: Advice please about Spanish Septic Tank

We don't use any harsh chemicals so we know that's not likely to be the problem. We think it might be a filter problem. We are getting a guy out today to see if he can advise us, I think the builder has probably not done a good job, he's not interested in the problem when we spoke to him and couldn'...

Re: Advice please about Spanish Septic Tank

We already have a 'proper' chambered septic tank , hence the post, we don't do illegal anything. Of course we already understand that as it is overflowing it needs pumping out, my question is, should it need pumping out after only 8 months use, we think effectively pumping out once a year is excessi...

Advice please about Spanish Septic Tank

Hi everyone, we have a bit of a problem with our septic tank here in Spain and we would like some advice on how often you have to have them pumped out? We have had our property for 3 years but we've probably only occupied it for about 8 months during that time but its started to over flow, is it nor...

Ideas please?

We've are in the process of having some dry stone wall terracing (3 levels about 2.5 metres wide with stone walls about 1.5m high and 30-40 mtrs in length) which should be completed this week. We would like to make them something more than just a path down the hillside leading to nowhere. Anybody go...

Re: Marta Andreasen is on the warpath again over demolitions

Spain - a "State of Law" What I'm not clear on is if everyone who buys a home in Spain uses a lawyer who was required to ensure that the property is legal and has all the correct papers, why aren't the lawyers being prosecuted to obtain compensation??

My parents, especially my mum taught me as a child lots of the star patterns, such as little bear, orion's belt and of course the plough, unfortunately the plough was the...

Re: Star Gazing! Those bright things in the sky not movie stars!

Hi thanks to everyone for your replies. I'm very much a novice on the tecno front but will give it a go. We have only a little light pollution where we are and the night sky is usually very clear, I can identify some of the stars but not all and I am interested in knowing what the really bright star...

Star Gazing! Those bright things in the sky not movie stars!

I have been trying to find the website that Ken Campbell use to run about what you can see in the night sky above the Costa del Sol but I can't seem to pick up the URL through Google. Does anyone have it or perhaps advise me if he still has one? or perhaps recommend any other sites on this subject. ...
