Re: Fish

When I moved to Spain a friend recommended that I buy this book as we love fish but needed help with the Spanish names. Its really helpful as it also give you a basic how to cook; and so much more. I got mine on Amazon.

Re: Supermarkets open on Sunday?

Also I found that a couple of the littler supermarkets on the coast road were open (thats the road that goes through Rincon de la Victoria). The info is from El Corte's website: http://www.elcorteingles.es/corporativo ... alucia.asp ...

Re: Test Drive Living in Almeria - House Sitting Opportunity

It was my understanding that house sitting often requires the house sitters to pay for the opportunity to house sit! maybe this is the charge for free accommodation. Just a thought as people seem to think that you housesit for free. ali

Re: children travelling without parents

This is my experience..when travelling with my Grandson last September on Easyjet we were asked for a letter from his mother (our daughter) that gives us permission to travel with her son (said grandson), he has a different surname to us. I would therefore suggest a letter giving permission would be...

Re: Spain is down graded by the IMF- impact question

It was on Newsnight last night apparently Italy and S Ireland were also down graded but they come in after Greece and Spain and as I understood it Spain's situation is worse than Greece's. From the reporting I gathered that all of the above countries are very poor at collecting their taxes and from ...

Re: IBI tax ?

I know exactly what you mean. i have friends who have had their house built (totally legally with electricity, town water etc) for 5 years and still can't pay their IBI or water although they try every year. Their worry is that in the future they'll be presented with a humungous bill through no fau...

Re: Working the land - advice please

I'm not quite clear about the original post, are you saying that these guys come onto your land and harvest it for themselves or they just turn up and do free work for you ?? They turn up on our land and harvest it for themselves, on enquiry they had been given permission from the owner who sold th...

Re: Pool fence

Its my understanding that the fencing of pools is an EU law brought about because so many children and adults had been drowning in unprotected pools. I understand that all EU member countries should comply, for a change France did comply but not unsurprisingly and rather similar to the 'non smoking'...
