House Insurance

Has anyone had any experience of making a claim from any English company that provides cover for their house in Spain? The reason we ask is that we have recently bought such an insurance as we fully understood what cover we are buying but just wondered how they english insurance companies performed ...

Re: Advice please for novices on holiday letting property?

Thanks again for your advice Bob and Frances. We could be lucky with someone to 'manage' the property as there are a couple who live just up the track from us who I believe do property management, so hopefully that should be a problem. We'll have to think about making a decision quite soon I guess i...

Re: winter driving to spain -any tips please?

We have often driven from the north to the south via Madrid in the winter months eg November, December, January and February. We have encountered snow many times. You don't says what route you will take but we cross the border at Heydaye and drive down to Madrid via Burgos. We have had snow in all t...

Re: One for the Ladies !

I use Eroski Formil Activ it seems ok, if I know I have a stain such as oil or tomato I squirt on some Bio Shout (its just called Shout in UK) about 15 mins before I wash it seems to work a treat, or straight away if I know I've done it. I don't use Varnish as I have found in the past it can bleach ...

N340 between Velez-Malaga and Malaga City

I drive a left hand drive car and actually prefer to drive on the left, but I was wondering today when driving to Malaga airport if others thought that the road camber was particularly bad, although I mentioned the N340 above I also feel the same about other roads as have driven the length and breat...

Re: house insurance, advice please?

Enrique, you've got me worried now! We had a problem is a landslip in front of our house in January because is rained so much then. As we had no guttering, we put some up and also had a french drain dug and where the landslip was put in a rock (very large ones) wall. We are also building a water tan...

We been checking out our policy we orginally got through our solicitors here in Spain as its up for renewal shortly. Re: airport parking

Hi we've used Chipsaway many times for parking, both short and long term, they have been good and efficient. I'd check their website (http://www.airportparkingmalaga.com/) but I think there is a minimum charge now, but the daily charge works out about 5 euros, I believe. Seems most parking companies...

Re: Monarch airline from Malaga

I've seen people not willing to give up "their" seats to allow parents with young children to sit together, personally I think they should be ashamed of themselves, I always happy give my seat up and so it my OH we don't have a pressing need, after 30 years together, to always sit next to ...
