Re: Malaga Football Club

A 3:1 win over Hercules today puts Malaga CF in a great position now.
It seems to be coming good for them lately. I've missed so many games this season that I have no idea who is playing well or at all.
Anyone got details on who is doing the business for MCF at the moment?

The Andalucia Funnelweb Spider

I run walks and hikes in Frigiliana and over the last couple of years I have begun to understand the environment I work in and the flora and fauna too. In the last few weeks I have noticed a large increase in the number of Funnel Web Spiders along my routes in the hills. These spiders are one of the...

Re: Royal Wedding

I have to say I'm a bit of a softie and I shed a small tear watching the lovely couple in the church. Although a mate of mine called the whole thing "The World Cup for birds!!!" :) I had a Spanish friend call me yesterday telling me how wonderful it must be for to have a new Duke and Duchess ...

Re: For fans of the Menu del Dia

I found a good one a few weeks back.

Hotel Playamaro in Maro.

We got a nice menu del dia of half a roast chicken, side salad of asparagus, sweetcorn lettuce, and a portion of hand-cut potatoe fries....all for €6.50

Good service, clean premises...worth a try.

Re: Who is Moving ?

Who was the "official evaluator" you used please? Coud you post or pm me details please? Were they from Tinsa (who have suspiciously close connections with the main banks)? It was from TINSA, recommeded by the UNICAJA Bank. The vendor was not happy with the evaluation price but it was all laid out ...

Re: Who is Moving ?

I'm moving  We've been here for two years now and have rented. I've kept an eye out for a good deal and I noticed in the last 2 months that asking prices were tumbling. I started to look seriously then and a few weeks back I made 3 serious offers. On average I was still offering between 20%...

Re: Drivers Licence. €250 Fine in Nerja :-(

An interesting update on this story. I went into the Post Office this morning and paid the fine. I then went ot Malaga Traffic Office to hand in all the papers to get the Licence changed to a Spanish one. I mentioned in passing that I'd got stuck for a "Denuncio" for €250. The young lady was quite s...

Re: Drivers Licence. €250 Fine in Nerja :-(

If your German licence did not have the required translation, as per the European licence model, then the Guardia have acted correctly. So stop whinging about fund raising exercises. It seems like a fair cop! Yes, I figured he was'nt making it up and no real whining (well, a lot of strong German cu...

Re: Drivers Licence. €250 Fine in Nerja :-(

Hi GerryH, its a German licence issued in Germany. Its about 25 years old. The Police Officer explained that it was a German Drivers Licence and only valid for driving in Germany or for driving Hired Cars in Spain. Its a photo-type Licence about the size of a passport but he would'nt accept it. I go...

Drivers Licence. €250 Fine in Nerja :-(

My wife got hit for €250 last night for holding an incorrect licence. She's been driving around on her German licence and according to the Police Officer it's invalid after 6 months if you are a Resident. Bummer!!!! I had changed mine sometime in 2009 but only because I wanted to and I had decided t...

Re: Rain again

I had a couple of poor souls out hiking today on a 22 km trek around the Frigiliana/Acebuchal area today. Weather forcast was for plenty of cloud with "some" rain, heavy localised. It was localised all over us. The last 4 of the 6 hours were spent in torrential downpours with near zero visibility. I...

Me too.

20% of European flights will be allowed and 40% of international flights and 50% of island flights to the mainland.

A lot of disruption for that day.

I thought they played very well last night, even though they lost 2-1. They really played a good spoiling game and brought Barca down to their level. (being Irish we know about bringing other teams down to our level  ). Ok Barca played better football and deserved the points, but I thought M...
