Re: Santander 123 account

All I know is that we, residents, had one of these 123 accounts for about a week and then we closed it. Each of us had three cars which we were supposed to use so many times each week. One card for withdrawing money from the hole in the wall. One for regular shopping. One for credit shopping. So all...

Re: Official documentation of reaching pension age

To be honest, it was agreed I was retired and that all was correct in the practical, physical world but they want some imaginary bit of paper. I think I might draw up the document myself using my skills on Photoshop. That's a joke. Actually it is a joke. The other bonkers thing going on is that the ...

Re: Passport control post Brexit

Of course with all the new eye-readers at passport control it won't be long before 'they' will know where everyone is all the time. Ha! Ha!

Re: Passport control post Brexit

They won't refuse entry and I doubt the passport control people will enforce much but the information (scanned passports) will go to a department that WILL look at the movement of that passport and events will follow ...

Passport control post Brexit

I've just come back from the UK and on going through a quiet passport control in Seville I asked what the plans were post-Brexit. The passport officer told me they have been instructed to accept normal British passports but to stamp them on every entry and exit. That should sort out the non-resident...

Re: AGENCIA TRIBUTARIA

That sounds really strange and would take them years to interview all foreign property owners, no? Are you sure it's from the agencia and not a scam to have you out of the house on a certain day at a certain time so someone can burgle your house? Is there a number on the letter so you can ring them?

Re: Wild Camping

Between the beaches of the south and the cities of the north you will find Extremadura, a bikers paradise. Roads are excellent and empty. There are plenty of wild areas where you can camp and no one will even know. Most villages have hermitages and romería grounds where you can camp free and there a...

Re: Voting in the Spanish election in April

There are more elections in May, at least there are in Extremadura. If you are on the Padron you can vote in local elections for your mayor and council and can also vote in the Junta elections. By May we won't be voting in the EU elections as we won't be in the EU.

Re: Official documentation of reaching pension age

Correct. I will wait until i get to the bank on Tuesday and try to explain the system in the UK — date of birth plus national insurance number plus years of work and contributions plus date of retirement equals pension.

Bus between Seville airport and the bus station

Is there an bus between the station at Plaza de las Armas and the airport in Seville. Is there a timetable? Thanks. Seville has become our closest airport now that EasyJet are going to Bristol three times a week. I've got the bus from Mérida to Seville sorted out and under €10.00 for the ticket, ama...
