Re: Transfer to UK NCB

Direct line in uk wouldn't accept NCD from Linea Directa. Saga would. Nationwide wouldn't. You just need to try a few companies.

Re: Velez Malaga

Paulinmalaga - we love Velez, it's about 15 minutes from us and we visit 3 or 4 times a week. You said you're planning to walk the town top to bottom. That's definitely the right direction as if you do bottom to top, you'll be so worn out you won't know where you are! I agree with other posters abou...

Re: King size matress

IKEA have their own sizes, so their king size is 160 rather than 150. With a quick look they have got some 150s but some are only 190 as Peter says, rather than the uk 200cm long. We've found that most bed places will order the size you want.

Re: Parcel to UK

I have used UPStoday in the past. You can drop parcel off at an access point (there are a couple in velez Malaga, and they can be delivered either to another access point, or actual address. A 7kg parcel is around £22. Website is http://www.upstoday.com. Don't use the standard ups site, it costs abo...

They're on the right hand side as you drive into the airport on the old road, next to all the parking offices.

Recommendation for new car hire

I needed to hire a car for 24 hours from the airport. I was looking at around 40-50 euros, allowing for fuel etc. I looked at Atlas Choice, who I don't normally use as they don't tell you who you are with until you are booked. Since they only wanted £10 for the day, including full/full fuel, I decid...

Re: Glossary of car terms

Going through the parts book is far too technical for me - and him indoors! Glad yours are going well too. If the garage ever shuts down, you'll be my next port of call. X

Re: Glossary of car terms

Which one?! Yesterday's was new power steering pump fitted. We've started using a garage called Autalleres Taxa in Benamargosa. Too far for you Enrique, but the two Spanish guys there are absolute stars. They've been there for ever. We drove it down yesterday morning, and since they couldn't do it s...

Re: those irritating tiny white flies ...

I'm resurrecting this post to see if anyone found a good means of getting rid of them last year. We're absolutely swamped with them this year. Last night I vacuumed the bottom runners on the patio doors and closed the window and this morning the runners are full of dead flies and there is a large pi...

Sealant from Bricomart

Some time ago someone posted on here that they had used a sealant from Bricomart for terracotta tiles (outside). Search as I might, I can't find it. It was a name followed by a number. Can anyone remember seeing this and tell me what it was called?
Thanks

Recommendation for painter needed

Can anyone recommend a professional house painter around lake Vinuela area? I need someone who doesn't make a mess and prepares properly. One of the walls is about 20 feet high so needs either scaffolding or a long ladder.
