I gave my wife a list of jobs to complete yesterday, which she started but then complained that 'she was on holiday'! Soooooo? WTF do you think I'm doing? Still, it was a cracking November day on Sunday until the clouds came over in the afternoon plus I got to play with my chainsaw.

Cream crackered

Having a holiday home in the sun - great 'innit? I spent most of last weekend with the chainsaw, pruning the almond trees completing nearly 50 of them - only another 75 to go. So, I decided to take a break to admire the view and I got to thinking about other jobs that needed doing over the...

People put their money where they get the best interest rate. The UK's base rate (5.75%) is higher than the US (4.50%) and the Euro (4.00%) both of which could be lowered in the next month or so, therefore more money is transferred into Sterling as the interest rate (earnings) are higher prompting a...

Has anyone considered if the Easyjet "offer" to offset the C is a marketing study to see if people are still willing to pay more than the fare+extras? Or am I being a bit cynical  Don, I think you are being a bit cynical. We have a Carbon Offset scheme which is undeniably a part of our market...

OK. Let us know how you get on. It'll be interesting to see if you notice any change in the water quality, particularly in the pool which by the time you next get to swim in it will probably have had a complete water change.

I disagree. If you look at the economic fundamentals underpinning the various currencies mentioned, then there isn't enough correlation to suggest the Euro is particularly strong. What has happened is that there is an enormous amount of speculative activity as trader have moved out of the derivative...

Boooger. Loads of interest but no suppliers? I live on the stuff, mainly as a snack but its flaming expensive in the UK - probably be cheaper to be a crack addict. My dog, who's a Rhodesian Ridgeback gets right in touch with his roots when my wife comes back with it from Selfridges who seem to have ...

Biltong

Does anyone know where I can buy some Biltong, either along the coast or preferably somewhere like Antequera to save me the bother of 'smuggling' it in?

I wasn't expecting something as prosaic as 'filtros por agua' but something translated as 'anti-calcium filter' but there you go. If these are any good I'll get some next time I'm over so keep us posted.

It very much depends on the system installed. Wet systems which I've experienced have generally been good although its essential that the correct insulation is used otherwise you end up with too much heat soak into the floor of the house which is the opposite to the effect you want. Underfloor cooli...

Today has hit a new low... 1.387 What the best bet for the bottom mark before the upturn? I reckon 1.35 Any pro's out there to give a better guess? I'm far from a pro but I'd wait at least until the Eurozone interest rates are adjusted, probably downwards, in December given the amount of speculativ...

Peter, there is a decent plumbing supplies shop on the larger poligon in Velez, where you turn off left past the cafe where the Police tend to congregate and its on the right about 100m past the cafe - Riega or something similar. If you manage to source a decent filter, can you share it with the res...

Don't think it will get any better for a while. I fear a recession is coming to UK big time and that only means a weak pound. No it doesn't. The UK's single biggest trading partner is the US with the main reasons sterling being so strong against the $ dollar being higher interest rates, which will ...

Now comes the bad news about petrol. In the press today it was stated that due to the storm in the North Sea and the shut down of most rigs, especially the Norwegian ones, crude oil could rise by up to 10%. What that would do to petrol or diesel I don't know, but I expect to be ripped off by somebo...

Late '80s, early '90s. That was the only way of keeping up with the pot hunting 6R4s that blokes in their mid-40s bought to stroke their egos on the tarmac bits where there weren't any corners. Also the main reason why I stopped rallying as I couldn't afford it any more - leastways, not without a de...
