Re: residencia

What exactly does "permanent residency" confer that "residency" doesn't? Is it just that you no longer have to renew it every 5 years? If so, that's hardly a big deal or is there an implication that within the first 5 years you can be slung out at the whim of the Government? I would have thought th...

Re: Car Insurance How much are you paying??

Kia carnival, 505€'s todo riesgo. 7 years old. That's with 17 years ncb with them as well ! Still cheaper than my previous Ford tourneo connect , 6 years old & had from new, that was 713 €'s. Then that was classed as a commercial vehicle. Does that include the equivalent of UK RAC / AA protection? If...

That's the problem with the digital system, bit of rain & you get break-up. We had the same problem in the uk with the sky. Now we get it on the spanish system since they've changed over. Progress, I think not !

Re: Stolen UK licence

I personally have virtually no income and what I do have is taxed at sourced We pay all the property taxes annually. I'm sorry that you appear to think I'm some kind of tax dodger. Anyone who can afford to live in Spain will almost certainly have an income greater than the minimum required for a ta...

Originally the sellers were blind or partially sighted, that's what O.N.C.E. stands for, then they started using disabled people & in recent years ,due to a shortage of sellers , able bodied people were employed.

Re: Snow Chains

They come in sets of two. It was the law that in areas likely to have snow that you had to have chains in the vehicle at certain times of year. whether or not they've changed it , I have no idea. I always use a set on both axles.

Here the standard bag ( Holcim ) is 32,5n/m2 & what they call 'extra strength ' , 42,5n/m2. We only changed in early 2003 from 50 kg bags to 35kgs. I thought I'd become fitter & stronger ! :lolno:

Re: Motor Insurance.

Have you tried insuring it with a Company such as Ibex who insure UK plated cars here in Spain? Once the car is back in the UK and you have a permanent address there you can re-insure with a UK Company in the usual way. One of the problems with that is that many police forces view a UK reg. car tha...

Re: Selling UK car in Spain

Yes, I had to scrap one some years ago . I wished I hadn't when I found out the price the scrapyards charge for parts though. The negative side was it took me 12 months to find a scrapyard that would take it as the two biggest vehicle dismantlers here would not (& still won't ) take UK reg. cars exc...

Re: Selling UK car in Spain

Although there are many ,including spanish dealers that will take a UK ,or other foreign registered, car in part-exchange it is against spanish law. This states that it is illegal to sell, gift, scrap or part-exchange a foreign reg. vehicle. It has to go back from whence it came.

Re: Price for Gas (Butano)

No bars, ferreterias ,supermercados , etc; that sell them on are allowed to add a % . It used to be about 70c some years ago when they were around 7€'s but would obviously increase as the price rises.
