It isn't the amount it is the principle. Same as fixed pen...

Re: Trivia

Apparently 2.6 million people in UK are driving without a valid licence, failing to realise it has to be updated every 10 years. It seems that also approximately a third have admitted to driving without an MOT. So not so squeaky clean!! (Source 'This is Money') The fact that the PHOTO requi...

Re: will you return to uk or stay in spain

They constantly complain that the Andalucians are "muy informál" (in relation to work ethics and standards) and that any jobs that need to doing (for example around the community) . I was talking to a woman from Barcelona the other week. She moved here when they retired as they couldn't afford to l...

Re: New tax on properties sold "under value"

There own rules state that the VC cannot be more than the market value. " El valor catastral no puede superar el valor de mercado, entendiendo por tal el precio más probable por el cual podría venderse, entre partes independientes, un inmueble libre de cargas, a cuyo efecto se fija, mediante orden m...

Re: Potencia Contratada and ICP Rating

Checked the “Increasing Potencia” thread which did not really answer my questions. If a new smart meter is installed and no work is carried out in the house it will be set to our contracted potencia of 2.2kW. We will then have the electrical system tripping very frequently! At some stage we will ne...

Re: Exchanging UK driving licence for Spanish licence

It is just the same with the ITV centres, they are private businesses in it for profit, which is why they are quite happy to do an ITV on a foreign car and issue a worthless ITV certificate. Sid Not in Andalucia they aren't . The Junta took them all over a few years back. Still issue the worthless ...

It is every 10 years up to 69 and 5 years thereafter. It used to be every 2 after 70 but it's now it's 5 and 10 for everyone else. Re: Fuel prices

Basically the answer for the UK is yes. more diesel cars = higher price. In Spain 82% of all vehicles are diesel. I was surprised recently in the UK ,in how many people have gone back to petrol. cid the difference between petrol , the cheapest one , & diesel is far more than 3c up here.More like 12-...

Re: Volkswagen caddy

Just because the manufacturer says that is what it can tow,or weight it can carry means nothing as trafico ,when registering many vehicles apply their own lower limits which are shown in the logbook & are always noticeable as the addendum is "allowed in Spain". I have a motorhome that the builders o...
