Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

I agree FaL. Perhaps in the cities they have more problems and are much busier, but our surgery and I think others in this area always had appointments within the next day or two. I've also heard that you may not even see your allotted Dr. After our original doctor left a few years back we had a ser...

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

Please let us know how you get on. I only live around the corner from the health centre so it could well be easier for me to call in an request an appointment if they allow that. I found the same as Gerry said. I was told to phone and in fact couldn't get into the clinic as on the door there were s...

Re: Coronavirus

is that hair brained? In an ideal world there would be no air travel, however to get the economy going and some degree of normality there has to be air travel. You have to make changes. Those unsightly scenes where people are trying to cram their bags into the overhead ten seats further away are fi...

Re: Coronavirus

Mark, that link won't work as it says I've reached the free article limit. I did just see that Lufthansa are resuming flights before the page disappeared. I'm not sure anyone knows how flights will go until they start. I read a few weeks back of a German flight being turned back from Sardinia as the...

Re: Coronavirus

I'm getting a lot of ads from Easyjet about their sales, but all I want at the moment is our refunds for the cancelled flights in May and June (plus Ryanair as well). I should think a lot of people are reluctant to book again when they're still awaiting their refunds. Our German neighbours are comin...

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

Thanks Gerry, that is very interesting, I didn't know about that website. Still doesn't allow me to make anything other than a phone call appointment, so I think I'll call by the clinic today and see if I can make an appointment to see her.

Re: Public Transport under Threat

In the summer there are a huge amount of people at the Nerja and Torrox bus stations waiting for buses. Friends and their family with a car at their holiday home here always get the bus to and from the airport. I can't believe they're thinking of either keeping the reduced service or giving up entir...

Re: Missed traffico notification

Thanks for that Beach. My OH had received the email but I didn't. I seem to be set up OK on the DGT site and have received the blank test form OK. I hadn't read the message and accepted it though so I've done that. Always hate getting an email from them, although we've barely been out to get a fine!

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

There's a piece in Diario Sur today about this, with the doctors' spokesman saying it has been a problem during the pandemic for doctors doing the callbacks when the patient does not answer the phone. Well, if you have no indication of the approximate time when you can expect a call, what are you m...

Re: How long has it been since you last filled up the car

We usually fill our cars about once a month but I last filled mine right at the beginning of lockdown as the petrol light had come on during my last trip out pre-lockdown. I've still got loads left. We topped up my OH's car with 20€ in April and that's still got loads left too. We've not spent much ...

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

Our Drs has always been very good and I've not waited more than a day or so to get an appointment. Last time I went there was no-one else waiting and I went straight in to see her. As it is I was told to go to the Dr's after the phone appointment if I'm still having problems. Although I plucked up c...

Re: Coronavirus

Which cafe was that wicksey? Or maybe i shouldnt ask. I can't pm you as you seem to have disabled the option? It's somewhere we've eaten quite a few times as they do nice home made cakes and quiches. It's just today we were sitting next to the counter and could see behind the till area. I guess in ...

Re: Wild Animals on the Loose ?

We certainly see less birds of prey now. We have a couple of resident kestrels but rarely see the big eagles and buzzards. Even my favourite bee eaters are thin on the ground. I heard a flock or two in April and May but nothing since. We've seen snakes regularly and the chameleon. We did have 3 livi...

Re: Coronavirus

My hairdresser opened on 4 May. When I went the other week she said that she could now allow one other person in to wait, keeping their social distance. She did everything you describe above, but she hasn't raised her prices to cover the extra costs and work. Still only 10€ for a wash and cut :thum...

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

I struggle in Spanish over the phone although am not too bad face to face. I too have to have an appointment to see the Dr to then arrange my six monthly blood tests. Then I go back to see her for the results. I would prefer to call into the clinic to get an appointment rather than try to phone. I'v...

Re: Coronavirus

I th What ppe and safety are hairdressers being asked to carry out? Will they have temperature checking of customers, no waiting area? Or are they classed as lower risk? As far as Spanish hairdressers are concerned, these are the precautions which had to be put in place before they could reopen. No...

Re: Coronavirus

I expect we'll see a big difference here next week as there are a lot of weekenders that some down from Cordoba province. Up to now it's been very quiet on Torrox Costa without the weekenders and the other holidaymakers that would usually be here.

Re: My Bread Machine Has Been Working Overtime.!

I saw packs of fresh yeast in the fridge where the butter is in our Mercadona but I always use their dried as it's so easy in the breadmaker. I found it difficult to get the strong flour and only got my first bag from Lidl a couple of weeks back.

Re: Coronavirus

I can't find any info on travelling in cars as we enter Phase 3 next week. Do people not in my household still need to sit in the back? I guess that if I take a friend out we'll both need masks ..... I haven't driven in one yet and wouldn't like to as it steams up my sunglasses!
