Re: Advice/Info for those stuck away

When did you do that journey Gardenofengland? I thought all hotels were shut now? A friend drove back to the UK in his camper van but that was in the first week of lockdown and he didn't have too many problems.

Re: Spanish Postal Service

I ordered some pills from my usual health food shop that is currently shut, but when they went to the PO to send it they were told that my apartado will not accept any packages, even a tiny one that will fit into the box. Just as well I didn't go mad ordering masses of stuff off Amazon! We have rec...

Re: Homeland on catch-up

I feel that this last and final series is a bit contrived. The earlier series were far more complex and gripping I think, but still a reasonable programme to watch in these days when there seems to be little else on some evenings. We need it on catch-up as we need the sub-titles (plus it cuts out th...

Re: Coronavirus

A friend drives down to his house here in his motorhome to spend the winter each year (he has a car at his Spanish house to use). He has dogs and it works very well for him. He left for the UK just after the lockdown started and managed to get back to England OK despite being stopped a few times. I ...

Re: Coronavirus

I saw that Lavanda. Pretty extreme if it's true, and the first I've read of a company actually admitting that it will take a very long time to get back to 'normal'. Just wish they'd allow us to do a bit of exercise each day, particularly as they're now saying about extending lockdown until 11 May.

Re: Spanish Postal Service

Our PO is open but for shorter hours, now closing at 12:30 rather than the usual 2:30pm. A card I posted to my friend in the UK took over 2 weeks to reach her when it usually only takes a few days.

Re: Homeland on catch-up

The LG TV may be on Spanish time and C4 have picked that up. Change the time zone back to GMT or more correctly BST and it should avoid the problem. It happened to us on our Firestick which was showing GMT +1 and whilst we had the VPN on, C4 picked up on it... Amazingly that worked  Why it...

Homeland on catch-up

Weirdly my LG TV is not allowing me to watch Homeland on the CH4 app as it is 'not available in my location'. However, everything else on the app plays as normal, it is only Homeland that doesn't work. I've cleared the cookies on the TV and the CH4 app has just updated, but nothing has changed. I ca...

Re: big empty parking lot or similar for car practice around Benalmadena?

Just drive up into the campo .... never known it so busy up here this weekend. Multiple cars at weekend campo houses, and loads of cars we've never seen up here before driving around. Seems like there's no restrictions in campo driving!

Re: Gaviscon advance

Wicksey I have just had a similar ear problem. If I get out of bed quickly, look up at a tree or something my head spins. Had it last year too. I had A phone conversation with GP yesterday where they do a triage. Because I had it previously she prescribed an anti biotic spray. They do see people bu...

Re: Gaviscon advance

Elusive I've had that sensation and I think it was anxiety that brought it on. Although I'm not really aware of feeling stressed at the moment, I also think that at the back of my mind I know it's not easy to see the Dr as before. I have ear problems and that sometimes makes me feel dizzy and I thin...

Re: VPN Recommendation

It is the DNS I've installed, not a VPN. I've only used the VPN once on my PC but it slowed it down.

Re: Easyjet

It's not actually cancelled yet so I'll just have to wait. I think a refund will be best as long as they are still easy to obtain.

Was the block not there when you Ascended Mrs W ? Re: VPN Recommendation

It's not difficult to put the DNS into the router. I'm only self taught and found the step by step instructions on the website easy to follow. I found it the best option as then everything I have here is covered by it and you only need to do it once. However I have also now put the DNS settings into...

Re: Coronavirus

I saw those DM articles as well! Just been watching the Spanish news where roads into popular holiday towns on the coast have been closed off with cement blocks and the police are checking where people have come from. Benidorm is completely shut down apparently. Also checking cars parked up on the c...

Re: Easyjet

Jet 2 were saying they are starting to take bookings for holidays from June 15. Seems a bit optimistic to me. I did read in the EWN that Spain is considering keeping its borders closed for the whole of the summer, with no-on being allowed in or out for non-essential travel. Not sure how likely that ...
