Re: Are you thinking of selling up !

Where do you find the catastral value of a house you may be considering purchasing?

Re: Are you thinking of selling up !

This is vastly different from the U.K., where you just take the loss as a seller but the new buyer gets a bargain with no comeback from anyone! My O.H. would like to sell our holiday house and move to another one, same village but in a better location etc. The new house is at a bargain price but ob...

Re: Ipad

Many thanks for your replies.

OH bought me an Ipad 3G from the Apple store. I then went into Movistar and got a duplicate sim for 3 euros a month tied to my contract phone.

Loving it already!

Re: Ipad

Thanks Sid - going to the Apple store in La Canada today to have a look at them. I am such an ignoramus when it comes to this stuff - I only know how to use them. Whilst at home I would use it on wifi. I want to get rid of my movistar dongle as I now have ADSL here. I hate going on the internet on m...

Ipad

Hi

Is anyone using a 3G ipad? If so which network? I can only see the option for Vodaphone on the Apple store.

Many thanks in advance of a response.

Re: Arts and Crafts Suppliers

Bricor at Los Barrios sell supplies for making cards. When you go through the doors go straight ahead and then right - past the lighting. Eventually you find a lot of art supplies and you will find card-making supplies at the end of the paints.

Re: Passport Number/Flying Query

You can check in online separately for both legs of your journey. For your outward flight only using your current passport number - just 'uncheck' the return journey. On your return up to 4hrs before departure you can check in online using your new passport number. Seems Mr O'Leary has made it simpl...

Re: Dog Feeding

The diet your vet is suggesting is an interim measure to reduce his weight. If using good quality ingredients there would be sufficient vitamins etc. Your 7yr old will not convert proprietary dog food that is loaded with god knows what in the same way that he did when much younger. It isn't necessar...

Re: Spare Wheel

Thanks for all your responses. Whilst travelling along the motorway from Seville to Portugal a lorry in front had a blow out of spectacular proportions. Unfortunately it shed huge sections of tyre all over the road and I and a few others could not avoid it. Must have been about 6 of us. The tyre on ...

Spare Wheel

I have done a bit of 'googling' and from what I found and from other people I believe it is compulsory to carry a spare wheel. Can anyone confirm this?

Had a recent traumatic experience in a hired motorhome on a busy stretch of motorway only to find no spare.

Thanks Enrique

When I can determine how much it will be I'll just deduct it from the rent I pay :)

Re: Kindle or tablet

Don't waste you're money on the 3G version unless you want to download books in the desert somewhere - you can always find a WiFi connection somewhere or download at home before you go on your travels. Sid I disagree. I have the 3G touch version and have found it invaluable. Why look for a free wif...

Re: endesa letter

What period of time does the backdate cover and when did they start taking it? I moved into this house on 1st May and Endesa take the bill directly from my bank account. Clearly if this is a 2011 issue I don't want to be paying it!

Re: newbie here hello

Hi Mountainlass My advice would be to rent for at least a year - move around to see where you really want to be. There is no substitute for actually living in a place. We are on our 2nd rental and will be moving to a 3rd next year. One thing we have found - what we thought we wanted was not what we ...

The Manager at the Antequera branch of Barclays Spain speaks fairly good English. I transferred my a/c to Sotogrande and they all speak English. I would imagine the same would go for their branches in Malaga.

No surprises that Movistar didn't turn up - whether that was strike or their incompetence who knows.

Haven't heard any trains today.
