700 Quid for the ferry???? Strewth, it only cost me 53 and that was on the eurotunnel. 35mins crossing, 1 day`s driving 58euro`s diesel and an overnight in one of those 30euro motels By the sound of it they had two vehicles though. Bilbao/Santander crossings are very expensive unless you are just a...

Pizza Base instructions (can anyone help me translate it?)

I have been wanting to have a go at making my own Pizzas for a while now (don't like the frozen bases you can buy in supermarkets), so yesterday in Mercadona I spotted a box that contains enough for two bases. I think I understand the stuff I need: Half of box mixed with 125ml of water, 2 tablespoon...

Before moving out here I bought my LHD 4x4 from The Left Hand Drive Place in Basingstoke. They buy and sell LHD vehicles. Can't guarantee the price they will offer you but their web site is: http://www.lhdplace.com Thanks, will contact them also. It may be worth making enquiries into changing your ...

Lion - Steve Goddard is looking for a 4x4. You could then buy a 'still legal' UK registered car to travel back in with your possessions but you would need to arrange insurance. Since I posted this thread 3 members have contacted me via PM, Steve was one of them. The problem with me selling this end...

However, how will you deal with the change of ownership documents? Potentially you could end up with massive fines accumulated by the new owner if not done correctly with the debt registered against your Spanish property? Yeah, that's one thing that concerns me, could I not organise a gestoria/acce...

Thanks Beachcomber, they have the Sierra Tejeda to their north which would probably explain why they can't get a signal.

You post on Holiday Truths too don't you? - unless it's another beachcomber!

Yeah that could be worth a shot, I have heard lots of bad things about selling cars on Ebay though, people win the bids and either don't turn up or turn up and decide not to bother leaving the seller with fees and having wasted time, obviously not everyone is like that though. There is a LHD sales p...

By the way cigarettes are cheaper in Spain
Less than 1.30 Euro a packet for 20?

I suspect not.

I was in Gib (not a huge fan of the place I have to say - overcrowded) last month and Benson and Hedges were 96p a packet for 20, other brands were even cheaper.

Thanks, some good options there. The DialAbroad one looks good. Q. Can I use the service from a mobile? A. Yes. Using the service from a Spanish mobile will cost between 20 and 40 cents depending on which network and tariff you are on. Again, this is vastly cheaper than dialling direct. Calling from...

Cheap International Calls from your mobile?

Our former neighbours have moved into the campo from their townhouse and as they are quite low down in a valley they cannot get a bounce from a satellite system and it's not looking likely that Telefonica will be putting in a landline anytime soon either. At the moment they are making expensive inte...

I just wish my experience with a tranny worked out like Spanish Lad's theory  Paid £800 for a Ford Transit High Roof Long Wheel Base (H reg) two weeks before the move, within a week of buying it the prop shaft snapped and whilst at the garage several other problems were discovered, cost me a to...

Too trusting IMO, this one may be genuine but it's a well known scam on the coast for people to ask for a few euros for fuel for their mopeds etc.

Ask them if they mean by “cash sale” no mortgage
This is how I would have interpreted it, cash sale means no mortgage required and not meaning literally paying in cash notes.
