Good luck

I am a vegetarian and often when I order anything vegetarian they usually feel sorry for me and add bits of ham to the dish or even fish

Say "No Carnet" pronounced "Carnay" but look out for bits of Pork!

I have known some agents add as much as 100% commission onto properties before  Seller wanted 180,000 Euros for their small villa, agents advertised it for 360,000  We always insist that it's no more than 5% whenever we put it on with any agent, that's greedy as it is but some turn u...

After reading the above I think I am just going to take the cash back and cash it in a bank/post office, if it was a larger amount I would go through a finance company but it's too much hassle for 4,000 Euros IMO.

Just check your original bill and see if it refers to a sum of money called a fianza. That will be the deposit I thought everyone paid when they opened up a utility account here Do you mean for all utilities this would apply? I have kept some original statements so will have to look, I don't recall...

As for Internet if its Wanadoo, send fax, registered letter and email. Can anyone confirm if it's one of the above or all 3? Have you thought of letting it out to friends while you still own it? It's a no win situation really, I can't let it out as I want to sell it, I can't expect tennants to keep...

Every bill (except tax) is sent to the bank, paid by direct debit and we receive a monthly bank statement, we get charged €0.53 for the postage. Hmmm, our taxes to the town hall (sewerage etc) always need to be paid at the bank, I will have to ask the chap in the bank if I can set up a direct debit...

Yes, my suggestion would be to let people know you are leaving AOL, get yourself a temporary free hotmail or Gmail email account before you leave UI and let people know your new email address. Then cancel AOL before leaving UK. Wanadoo also do a package like your AOL one where you can use it 24/7 ev...

Shame I don't know anyone who wants to buy the Euros as that would have worked well. I already have a Paypal account, but can't see how I can use it in this instance as Unicaja (robbing barstewards) would probably charge 1,000 Euros for transferring the money to it in the first place  i reckon ...

Thanks for the replies. I think you will find that Telefonika charged you for the phone and won't want it back. Ours we gave away. Ah right, that's probably the case then. Make sure you get your deposits repaid so you might want to leave a bank account open as it will take time for the final reading...

I managed to bait a Nigerian scammer for about a month into thinking he was getting over £4000 from one of those emails.

Anyway, back on topic, anyone any ideas, I don't really want to have the hassle of setting up an account with one of these finance companies unless I have to.

Best way to transfer 4,000 Euros to UK?

Last time I did this I got proper stitched up by Unicaja, they charged me a % of the transaction and I ended up paying around 350 Euros commission  Rather than give them anymore money (they are take, take, take and charge commission just for breathing) has anyone got a suggestion? I might j...

HI I THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT WHERE YOU LIVE IN YOUR PROFILE. WHEN A POST, METIONS SHOPS,PLACES OR PROBLEMS WITH SERVICES, TRADESMAN ETC, YOU CAN SEE IF THE POST MAY RELATE TO YOUR LOCAL AREA. AND RE NAMES IM NOT TELLING!!!! It's also a good idea to try not to shout in your posts unless y...
