Every country has some stupid laws, and Spain is certainly no exception, but if the above is true it is the most idiotic I've ever heard. "S*** for Brains Award of the Century" to the clowns who dreamed that one up.

Re: Taking cigars to the UK
Thanks for everyone's comments. Unfortunately I didn't keep the receipt ( which makes me cannon fodder for my wife ! ) so I'll just have to wing it.

Taking cigars to the UK
Having a trip northwards later this month, partly for an old pal's 70th birthday bash. I've bought some of his favourite cigars to take (a third of the cost in the UK !!), from an Estanco so they are legit, tax/duty paid etc, but I cannot see any indications on the packaging to confirm this. It's ma...

Re: dinero
PP, that's not something I have ever needed to do with the Clarity card so I've no experience to call on, but I think it would be unlikely. As with some other card providers, the T & Cs specifically state that you cannot load the card up into credit, that any funds received in that way will be r...

Re: dinero
Main one is Halifax Clarity Mastercard, which I believe is still available from the Halifax. Also use one of the Barclaycard Platinum Visas (using Visa Europe exchange rates) with the "no extra charges" part of the T & Cs locked in until 2023, but that card is no longer on offer to new...

Re: dinero
Paddy P you could not be more wrong. The rate I got on the purchase was 1.0968 and NO spread, NO additional fees. I have been using this method for the last 3 years + and have never paid anything extra over the daily exchange rate. The absence of any charges above the daily exchange rate is clearly ...

Re: Owner not paying yearly community fee
Our community has been in exactly this situation and it became clear that irrespective of the HPL, it is virtually impossible to prevent an owner or their tenant from using the pool (or any other community facility) if they wish to use it, other than by committing some criminal offence ourselves. Pa...

Re: La Renta 2018 UK Rental Income - Tenant Identification
Just make up any old number and put it in the box. No way for Spain to check, and if they did find it were nonsense, just tell them that was the number given to you by your tenant.

Re: Strange email event
Thanks Enrique - we wondered if it was something like that. It is a Gmail account. However - why would Google allow someone to have the same email address? For instance, if we had [email protected].com - surely they wouldn't let someone else have mickey.[email protected].com? That would mean that we would...

Strange email event
Yesterday evening we found 2 emails in our inbox from Trainline, one confirming a return rail ticket booking Winchester / Waterloo (going today and returning tomorrow) and giving the last four credit card digits of the payment; the other was the actual e-ticket. We had not made the booking and do no...

Re: BEING MADE RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANTER
Patricia, when you say "planters", do you mean a fixed part of the fabric of the building, or separate moveable containers like plant pots ?

If there is a site located near to you, the Amazon Lockers are a really convenient and safe way to collect your stuff. We have used them many times and not had any problems.

Malaga Airport Parking
Has anyone used the Aena Parking website to book and pre pay a few days in the covered parking adjacent to the airport building - not the Long Term/mini bus one ? If so, is there a reserved section so you are guaranteed a spot no matter how busy it may be ?
Thanks,

Re: Tile Cleaning
No ! I did that twice years ago, but never again. If you put a sealer on, it usually has to be removed at some later stage before you can apply a further coat of new seal, and removing the old layer was an absolute pain in the butt. Since then, I just put up with the Vim routine every now and then w...

Same "flooring" pattern as you Costa Kid. Did our kitchen yesterday, bathrooms to be done next week.
Thick kneeling pad, scrubbing brush, good old fashioned Vim powder and lots of elbow grease.
