Re: Cajamar - compulsory contribution

Maintain the account - what does that mean? I just tried googling to see how many customers they have but could not find a definitive answer. But say they had 1 million x 2.25 = 2.25 million euros per month? Nice work if you can get it!

Re: Cajamar - compulsory contribution

They are all as bad as each other. My Barclays Spain account has 'interest' shown on a monthly basis. Now considering there is generally a reasonable balance every month you would think they were paying me the interest. But no - they are taking it for themselves. WTF? I opened up a Caixa account so ...

I think you should contact DVLA and ask for confirmation - then you have no worries.

Anything other than Correos is left at the gasolinera in the village here. That seems to be the norm.

Re: Gaszul - heating oil

Thanks Probe. I have my NIE and supplied a copy. They are wanting some form of tax document otherwise they want to charge a 'super bonus tax' on top. I don't object to paying tax but the price is already 1.03 per litre - way in excess of what it is in the UK. After telling the landlady I could not l...

Where are you starting out from? Looks like I will be doing the very same thing the following day. Have done the journey quite a few times now but need to know your starting point.

Re: Brittany Ferries Latest Update

Hi Enrique

Thanks for that - getting rather close for comfort and they are not giving much notice. My timings are critical - I am already putting plan b into place just in case.

Gaszul - heating oil

I am having a major problem getting oil delivered. I have approached the company who has always delivered to this house as recommended by my landlady. They would not deliver before having copies of specific documents i.e. a completed declaration, copy of my NIE and what I mistakenly translated as a ...

Re: Car Boot Sales Near Alora?

If you go towards Cartama on the A357 - where the road turns into dual carriageway take the first sliproad signposted Villafranco del Guadalhorce, Down to roundabout, take first exit up hill. Instead of swinging sharp right go straight on. There was a car boot down there every Friday - I assume it i...

I shall be furious if they do not resolve this. Have got outward and return sailings booked and paid for many months ago - and other things booked and paid for that depend on the sailing

Re: water bills

This morning I instructed the gardener to turn off the irrigation which he did immediately. There are approx 40 of the large sprinklers that erupt out of the lawns and fire huge amounts of water for 15 minutes at a time. OH was horrified when he saw it recently on his leave. Where am I likely to fin...

I paid more than that in cash to a garage after repairs to my car - my debit card was rejected because it was more than the 950 euro limit any one transaction (spanish bank I hasten to add).

Yes mine is in 'bloques' and 4 separate charges and other bits. But dividing the cost with the consumption comes out to just under 1.80 per unit.

Re: water bills

My landlady has just passed me a bill for water which is far too complicated to even begin to deciper but basically the 'consumo' was 371 and the total bill 663.87. My water is supplied by Arcgisa (Campo de Gibraltar).
