Things that you hate about spain

Things that you hate about Spain. For me there are two things

1 All the rubbish that is just thrown out of windows IE bottles glass bottles plastic and just about everything else you can think of.
2 Dog [email protected] every where IE on the beach on the pavement and any piece of grass that is available.

Anybody else feel the same way about anything else please add

I hate the way that rubbish is dumped anywhere.....why do they do that?!!

Also hate the way they treat their dogs.....I have only been here 6 weeks and seen at least 5 dead dogs in that time and in some cases they are just left at the roadside to rot!!!!

Our local butchers shop is fabulous, but the guy who owns it has put me off it through constantly scratching his @rse whilst he's slicing your meat!

Not just a little mini scratch but a full on body rattling episode everytime.

Quite off putting and horrible to witness.

There's a distinct lack of drink mats, although it is better then a few years ago. Most necessary to dry up the condensation on the outside of a G & T and more importantly to shore up wobbly bar tables.

Somebody is missing out on a good little earner.

It has to be the "spanish shrug" that you get whenevr you want them to do something and they can´t be *beep*!

I dislike listening to Brits giving advice to others that is totally wrong or unfounded when the adviser is so sure what they are saying is right LOL

That really isn't something to hate about Spain though D&P. Most of those you describe on here don't live in Spain. They may well put some Spanish Village on their profile and a different one in each of their ID's but they don't actually live there.
I could say I live in Buckingham Palace when actually live somewhere uninteresting such as a hostel in Helsinki. I would be telling lies.

Back to the thread, what I hate most about Spain is not being there full time yet.

My biggest moan about living here in Spain is 'back stabbing expats' and

Vigilante Brits who attack other Brits who are struggling to try and 'make

a go of it' here..I really can't do with informers, and net curtain twitchers,

who are always trying to catch someone out. I don't condone outright

cheating or fraud, but really can't stand other expats who are so quick to

judge others without knowing all the facts. I've watched young families

here over the years, being hounded, when all they needed was support

and a little help...When you live in a foreign country, you would think that

other Brits would only be too keen to help their fellow countrymen...not

the case..... Sorry but I think that a lot of the expats here are smug

bleeps ! ! ! I can't say anything about Spaniards...after all it's their

country...that doesn't mean that I agree with some of their

principles...particularly with regard to treatment of animals.

Agree Benidorm, and the plight of animals is a thing I abhor. I know there are bad things done to animals in the UK but here the procedures for dealing with it are lacking, it is getting better but not as fast as I would prefer. Rubbish tipping too, I can't understand why someone living in a million euro home thinks it is ok to toss their garden rubbish over their wall. Another thing, Civil Servants, they interpret the law as they think fit without any accountability which leads me to corruption. A Brit who I know was pulled over and was well over the drink limit, it happened that he regularly plays golf with someone high up in the Civil Guard, just a phone call and nothing happened.

The main thing I hate about Spain is the time it takes for everything to get done. Especially if your doing work on a property.

Ordered a bath 3 weeks ago, two to three weeks delivery they tell me

They call me today and say it won't be till the end of this month now. When I first got here two years back I'd have hit the roof, now I'm just like "yeh ok that's fine" Thing is you can get the same bath in UK over the Internet on a 48hr delivery.

Same thing happened with the tiles and I won't even mention Builders or the kitchen company that said it would be 3 weeks from start to finish and then took 9 months.

I have another 100 stories just like it but it's just the way it is here.

I remember when I used to go the bank in England and get wound up if it took more than 5 minutes. Now anything up to an hour is the norm. I guess I've mellowed in my short time here

Spain may well be dragged out of the dark ages one day but God knows when.

I still love it though.

So what? If he didnt hurt anyone whats the problem? What he could have is irrelevant, walking around with a knife isnt that bad its killing someone that is.

What surprises me is that this still surprises people and they complain about it even after many years here, get used to it!

Not sure who you were replying to, but if me, I've always paid car

tax etc here and in UK..

I think sometimes circumstances force some people to do things that

they wouldn't dream of doing normally..Perhaps one should try and look

at all perspectives before passing judgement......
