Be careful what you praise though.
We told a local bar owner that his spit-roasted pork tapas were fantastic, he was so thrilled (the locals don't even glance when their free tapas are placed in front of them) he invited us to see his pigs, he kept them up iin the campo somewhere.
We couldn't go on the specified date and the next night we saw him in another bar along with his friend who was splattered in blood. We thought the poor guy had had a nasty accident until he mimed killing a pig.
Thank goodness we missed the invite, we may have been given the honour of choosing our next meal!

I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire.

I bought a garden leaf "Hoover" from Bauhaus in Malaga a year ago. It was their own brand and very cheap - 39 euros.
It works fine but the zip on the collecting bag went with the result that I blew a bagful of leaves straight into the pool!
I emailed them (they claim to give a 5 year warranty) about it and immediately got a reply giving a contact number at the Malaga store. Called them and arranged to collect a new bag (which they had taken off the display model).

I bought an electrical item from Plus Supermercado, 22 months ago. Last week it stopped working correctly. I boxed it up and took it, along with the receipt, to a different Plus Supermercado, 4 hours drive from the one we bought it from. I explained that it wasnt working correctly and that I would like it fixed or replaced. As they could do neither, they gave me a full refund (over €200)! Good service or what!

It was a spammer from the Ukraine responding to a 13 year old thread. He is no longer a member.

A blast from the past. Had some good laughs with Peachy even though we clashed a bit she was genuine. Once saw her in Gibraltar.all the oldies vanishing, or dead. Benidorm missing again even though he tried so hard to get back on.
