Do these huge grasshopper things fly at you and nearly knock you over if they land on you? One landed on my back and I thought one of the kids had kicked a ball at me!!! Don't ask me to take a photo, I don't hang around long enough :shock: .

Maybe the Egyptian grasshopper is a posh way of addressing a locust...a bit like Rock salmon and dogfish???? Just so it sounds nicer :lol:

They are both in the same family so quite similar (ORTHOPTERA: ACRIDIIDAE)

The one I posted had just landed (there were quite a few flying) I wonder if the Egyptian flies too........

Tidal if you take a look at the link I posted above the guy says it has wings. So I guess it can fly.
