PP Yes I know it well, not been back for some considerable time but I assume it is still there, yes it is opposite the buttermarket or Market Cross (same place but different names)

Just shows you what a small world this is. I have just spoken with someone else on another forum who lived just down the road from me.

what a georgous place it is
Yes it is lovely and today even the sun is shining. We don't go into the centre that often and it's sad how many of the 'new' shops have already closed down by the time we go again. If you're coming to York on this trip I'll recommend some good eating places.

You talk of a small world, Trog. I live in Canada but I have been to Barnard Castle. It was 10 - 15 years ago and we went there to spend a few days before Christmas with some friends (now deceased).
Stayed in an old hotel where we were the only guests. Some locals went for meals.

Then we spent Christmas in the Netherlands, before going to Morrocco with my sister and her husband where we greeted the New Year. Quite a trip.

Very funny you pervy blokes!
I meant a quick ceremony actually.

Thats right Trog that was the name of it.I went to do a couple of shifts at the hairdressers there in Barney, and a few hair and fashion shows.,but they had another shop in Richmond where i did my training.
If i remember rightly there was a good car bootie not far from Barney, but cannot remember what the name of the place was called.plenty of toffs there in the hunter wellies tho.

I wont be going to York Mirandmac, we have often said we should go back and take our son,but not on this trip unfortunately.

You may be okay on the outside but your arteries will be getting bunged up with thick greasy fatal cholesterol.

Sounds like Blagraves JAWG. Very well known and is supposed to be the oldest house in the town.
Does it look familiar?

No. Our hotel was a little off the road, with a large parking lot. Probably a little out of town.
