Star gazing

Postby wagon ropes » Sat Sep 06, 2008 3:47 pm

Got the backyard telescope out last night to look at Jupiter. It is the bright star in the southern sky and at the moment all 4 of it's moons are also visible. I had never seen them before so it was quite a thrill. They were not visible with our binoculars but I think you could see them through a really good pair.
Having written this I note that the sun has just gone in but I hope it will be clear enough to see again tonight.

Check out www.kencampbell.ínfo or read his column in the Town Crier for all the info on the night sky here in Andalucia.
