We've had a little rain here........!!!!!
At the bootom of the hill in the village is a dry river bed (rambla) used as a road for most of our time here so far
Not today
This was at noon.....
The bit between the camera and the wall is where we normally drive down pat the weir.........the wall is usually about 5ft higher than the road
This is where it meets the main road 5km away at the local town
The bushers are rooted about 1ft above the roof of a normal car
....and this is where the road crosses
This, slightly further down, is another weir....two 10ft steps.....
....and this is where we cross to bypass that weir......the dip is about 5ft deeper than the water level
Needless to say we decided against driving that route today

You know I actually wasn't sure where the water ended up, but having played on Google earth I find it winds up in Negratin (a large embalse near Baza)great pictures, lovely water, but is it saved or wasted??
And sundry small agricultural mini ponds etc en route.
I'm glad you asked as it means I now know something new
IF this qualifies as winter, this will be our third one here and there has rarely been more than a trickle in that rambla.
Having talked to the locals, we do that here, they say it happens maybe once every five years or so but few had seen the water levels so high or rise so quickly.......it wnet form a mere trickle to that in less than an hour.
So yes it was worth putting up on here, not to show the difference between summer and "winter" but to remind people that these flash floods can happen.
BTW, the use of the word "nowhere" to describe this location is inaccurate and indicates a lack of knowledge of this area.

I know the area very well, our place is not that far away, and it is a very beautiful landscape (normally).
Tidal I am glad that the water runs to the Negratin, it certainly needs it, don't know if you have seen it lately but it is extremely low, or was before this deluge, I believe the have been tankering the water out to other parts of Spain for some time now.
