Hi
Yes I do live here. Bob Gaston is in Estapona, the holiday is Portugal & Ayamonte, both Hotel Rui. The food has to be seen to be believed; start with bucks fizz, cereals - you name it - its there. Have your breakfast cooked in front of you, or just get it from a constantly topped up self server. Drinks (tea coffee etc) help yourself. Continental style? yes its all there. I think the hotel holds around a thousand people so they can stock up with whatever you want - you will not be alone in your choice.
It was wonderful last year so booked Christmas & New Year this time

Christmas is just a pagan mid-winter festival,(Yule), high-jacked by Christian god-botherers.
Nowadays, it is yet another excuse for money to be extracted from people who are made to feel guilty if they don't overspend to give their children the latest electronic toy.

I do love the over-eating though!

This year I have hand made most of the Christmas presents- not saying what they are, but they are good, even though I say it myself :D Men are a difficult problem though  You don´t have to spend lots to make a good Christmas. We were discussing this yesterday, there is plenty of things I would like, but nothing that I actually need. I would have liked the Mama Mia dvd, but is it out yet?

Normally it's a huge buffet, seafood, different meats, salads, fruits, desserts, it's a mixture of Asian and European, usually it is good but no way is it ever worth the money, It's generally one of the booking conditions of staying in a decent hotel, The New year dinner is also compulsory
Ah! the full english!!

well,it sounds lovely, but not what we would call xmas dinner, i suppose if you wanted traditional english xmas dinner, you wouldve chosen to stay in UK.

The last three years we have gone to a Restaurant run by English people on December 25th and had traditional English Christmas Dinner.

This year we are hoping to stay in an apartment near Nerja where we have stayed before, - we're taking a Chicken Curry with us to heat up in the apartment and then we can walk on the beach.

Looking forward to it.

My first Christmas holiday in Spain was in a top hotel in Marbella. Great place with great food. Sunshine. Bars. Parties. Friends. It was O.K. This year we are not going on holiday but staying home in Spain with lots of family coming for ten days. This has made me source the ingredients and make all kinds of wonderful Christmas things like cakes, mincemeat, puddings, etc. I'm also going to use every Christmas decoration I ever moved out here. Last year, our first in the village, I put up the normal Christmas Tree and the local children came round just to see it!!!

Anyway, we have to stay at home as it's the olive harvest. The local co-operativa has a cut off date the first week in January!

We can´t put up a Christmas tree this year, pup would have it spread about the house :( Last year we had the tree out on the patio, it lasted all Christmas without dropping needles and then got planted in next doors garden. If we put the tree outside this year I dread to think what would happen to it as the dogs sleep outside at night, there would be tree and decorations everywhere
As we have a good log burner in the living room we can´t have the tree inside this year, it wouldn´t last 5 min with the heat.

We are staying here for Christmas. I have been making Christmas cake, puddings and mincemeat. This weekend I'm going to make chestnut stuffing and freeze until christmas :D

Last year we put a huge inflatable snowman up outside and icycle lights up around the house!! My daughters friends loved it as did the locals. This year we shall have a big tree for Father Christmas to leave all those presents underneath :D

Can you tell....I love christmas :D
