elderly with a pension,How are you managing?
There are a lot of us on here that work and have an income coming in,and we are struggling.
How are the elderly coping in spain that only receive their pensions from UK.I have been thinking about this quite a lot and feel really sorry for them.

My wife and I are living on our UK pensions.
Things are a bit tight at the moment due to the exchange rate.
We are coping OK. Had many years of live experience to enable us to cope with whatever is thrown at us.
Cheers
Gerry

Bang on Gerry, we are in the same boat but we manage ok just means no steak and fewer outings. We old un's have been here before and we got through it. Perhaps if all the whingers and moaners were a bit more optimistic and the UK press stopped talking it down things in the UK would improve a bit.

We are not elderly but living on a ´retired early work pension´, we are having to go careful and just watch what we spend the money on. We were never rich back in the UK so it is no different! We don´t eat breakfast out quite so much now, maybe just once a week instead of 4-5 times a week and buy what we need and not compulsive buy.
We too have wondered if the press and tv have talked the people into a recession?

Spot on Gerry, our generation were brought up to 'cope'; learning the difference between "Need" and " Want" is something that seems to have been forgotten these days.gerryh wrote:My wife and I are living on our UK pensions.

When we were little and Dad was out of work Mum used to cook Spam Fritters, how I hated them! I´d rather go hungry than eat Spam Fritters again
Re: elderly with a pension,How are you managing?
You can buy them frozen and ready to cook now in the UK. I agree though, they are really grossoliveview01 wrote:When we were little and Dad was out of work Mum used to cook Spam Fritters, how I hated them! I´d rather go hungry than eat Spam Fritters again
