Some information that I got this morning via a Homeopathic colleague. This is from a friend of hers who is a Pharmacist & Nutritionalist in Mexico City;

Some facts about the swine flu:

1. The swine flu is a subtype of Influenza type A.

2. In Mexico people are infected of Influenza A and influenza A subtype swine (H1N1).

3. The total of death of Influenza A + Influenza A subtype swine is until now of 159 deaths.

4. From this 159 deaths only 7 are positive for swine flu. There have only been 7 deaths from swine flu.

5. There have been identified as swine flu only 26 cases 7 of which are deaths.

6. In Mexico, the number of deaths of respiratory diseases in 2002 was of 14,114 persons (including Influenza A and other types of Pneumonia).

7. The virus of Influenza A kills, in the whole world, between 500,000 to 1,000,000 persons year.

7. In USA the number of cases identified as swine flu is of 64, more than in Mexico.

8. The total of swine flu identified in the world is 105: USA 64, Mexico 26, Canada 6, New Zealand 3, UK 2, Israel 2, Spain 2.

9. The only deaths have been reported in Mexico (7 persons).

10. The reason why the WHO is in alert 4 is because the swine flu is a new and different virus, not because its mortality.

Oinksip is brilliant..............especially the formula part.......

I have one serious question though - how do we, as a normal person, tell the difference between normal flu and swine flu? And does it really matter, flu is flu and flu kills thousands each year anyway?
