I see it is now confirmed in the UK, Imagine how many people may have come into contact with this, these people in Scotland did not present symptoms until Saturday but came back from Mexico on Tuesday.. Just think how many people you have come into contact in those few days, have any people outside of Mexico died of it yet?

On the BBC NW news last night it said that travellers, from the UK, where being advised not to travel to countries where there where confirmed cases of swine flu.
Spain was included as one of the countries.
As of yesterday there was only one confirmed case in Spain and two in the UK.
So it is better to leave the UK and come to Spain as there is twice as much swine flu in the UK?
Cheers

yes,it would seem that your survival chance is double at the moment by being in spain rather than being in the uk..should help tourism figures and get the brits flocking back here...forget the crisis, we´re talking about survival now.

I think you missed the smiley off this (at least, I hope you meant it tongue-in-cheek). One case in 40 milion spaniards and 2 cases in 60 million brits. None of which have turned out to be more than a sniffle.
Compared with traffic fatalities, I wouldn't bother worrying about this :D

I wonder why they are dying in Mexico and not other places :? Someone on TV reckons it is because Mexicans caught it direct from pigs and the rest from humans where it has mutated.

If they stop the sale of pork in Spain they will have to close a lot of restaurants down

I have seen it suggested that the majority of people who have died are down and outs from inner Mexico City who would have died of something else anyway.

What has not been established is what proportion of the total number affected is represented by the number of deaths. If, say, ten thousand people have the virus and only 160 or so have died this represents a small proportion.
Let's go Brandon!

Particularly if you remember that the population of Greater Mexico City is a mere 22 million!

The strain of flu which is now in Mexico is actually a mix of Swine, Avian & Human so has not come about from direct contact with animals. It has been released either deliberately or accidentally. The reason why Mexicans are probably dying is that they are living in poor conditions with poor nourishment and also don't go to the doctor as quickly. I did also hear that there may be something in their genetics which may make them more at risk of complications when catching illnesses like this as their immune systems are not equipped to deal with this type of virus.
