You could just sling the new camera around your neck :) I have never found the prices much different from Spain for these sort of goods.

My friend and I used to visit Gibraltar once a month and enjoyed the day out. Lot more nicer shops now than all the tacky ones in main street. Clothes shops such as Monsoon and some selling quality household items. Afternoon tea at the Rock Hotel or if not much time Morrisons does a super prawn sandwich. We took cool boxes and finished by stocking up on our favourite foods (and the ciggies of course!). I was only about 45 mins drive away though.

I would hate to live there but for a shopping day out or sightseeing if new, you can't beat it. Lot of inverted snobbery around methinks, it's not all about Main St. there are lots of historical interest sights and fab views of Africa and bird watching. Some who knock it would probably think it was great if it belonged to Spain

We're not talking smuggling here.
We're talking 2 people taking their allowance back into Spain.
So why were they stopped, tobacco confiscated and fined if they were within their legal limit?

You'll have to ask Spanish Lad that.
I suspect they may have been taking back more than the legal allowance.

it was more than the 1 carton allowed, so i guess that might be why.

Saw on Spanish teletext last night that the Government has told the mayor of La Linea to stop work on the toll booths, so the tax might not be introduced yet. We wondered, if it does go ahead, is it 5€ each way?
