Lunar Eclipse
Lunar Eclipse
Tonight is a full moon and a total lunar eclipse at about 10:15 PM.
Should be a nice clear sky for it.
Cheers

Re: Lunar Eclipse
in saw in the paper the other day that it was wednesday night, maybe an action replay tomorrow ?
whenever there is an eclipse we are told that it only happens every 200 years or so, but we seem to have eclipses every few months !!

Re: Lunar Eclipse
I missed it because it was cloudy
Re: Lunar Eclipse
Clear sky here but from where I live the moon rose eclipsed and the sky wasn't fully dark. It was only later, when the moon started to come out of the eclipse that I could see the moon.

Re: Lunar Eclipse
No cloud here but as I live in a valley it had all finished by the time it rose above the skyline.
Did anyone see it?

I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!
Re: Lunar Eclipse
We saw it from Frigiliana, last night.
It was very low in the sky in the east, a dark orange in clour and difficult to make out. The time was between 10.30pm and 11pm.
As it rose in the sky it began to clear.
very interesting....

Re: Lunar Eclipse
well that was a damp squib ... it was below the horizon at 10:15 ...
by the time it was above .. it was in the umbra ... so you only got to see the last moments of it as a red glow - ah well !

Re: Lunar Eclipse
I really just meant which country.
Guess your valley must point the right way. Last night the moon rose above the highest bit of the hill opposite us, too late for us to see the eclipse.

Re: Lunar Eclipse
The last few nights the moon has been rising up behind the lower slopes of the Sierra Tejeda exactly opposite/south south east of me ... so it was easy to see the eclipse.

Re: Lunar Eclipse
Was watching telly last night and happened to look out the window. Hadn't seen this thread, or anything about it, but said to 'er indoors "Oooh, looks like a lunar eclipse going on!" Saw the whole thing, and nearly missed who got fired. Hard to say which was the more exciting.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Re: Lunar Eclipse
Just heard from my neighbour that it was at 11:15, not 10:15 and he saw it. I had given up by then.
Note to self - check times properly next time.

Re: Lunar Eclipse
It was probably bout 11.15 before I could see any of it because of the hill and the sky too light. But it had already passed the total eclipse stage by then.
