Yorkshire Day

Postby gretch » Sun Jul 31, 2011 11:50 pm

Yes, here it is again everyone, the day that all Tykes, wherever they are, celebrate the fact that they are ‘Yorkshire Folk’.
Of course, we realise that there are many people out there who, unfortunately, do not come from ‘Gods Own Country’, but don’t worry; we’ll let you celebrate along with us even if you’re a Lancastrian.

Could be worse. You could be a Lancastrian living in Yorkshire like me.

I find it hard to believe that "Yorkshire folk" celebrate anything.

I can never quite understand why people bang on about a place they deserted for foreign shores! If it's that good, why leave? :?

It has never stopped the Scots! 90% seem to live elsewhere (including heading up socialist political parties and trade unions) but still speak in that strange way and go on about Rabbie Burns!

Frank, I started this topic just for a bit of, fun and nonsense, so I assume your comment was made in the same light-hearted manner :?:
Hope your Yorkshire Day was a good one.

I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire.
