Alan Barnes fund

Postby Manchesteral » Mon Feb 02, 2015 3:21 pm

Fantastic, the Alan Barnes fund has now reached over £200,000 and set to hit £250,000. The generousity of the British people never ceases to amaze me

Over £320,000 now. Probably time to close it. I see a fund has now been started for the kind person who set up the fund. She sounds a lovely caring person but, Where will it all end, will someone set up a fund for the person who was kind enough to set up a fund for her. Has the world gone mad.everyday there is someone in the newspapers collecting for someone. Collections should be handled by more than one person. I did not realise that the go fund me site took a 5% cut out of donations.

I feel a little uncomfortable that the money will be used to buy a house. He is 68 and the main beneficiary will be his Sister and family. It is more an investment and doesn't seem ethical. Perhaps a house, chosen by Alan, should be put in a trust so that when he has gone another deserving person could use it.

Ok. I'll get me coat :|

The next thing will be peeps wanting to get robbed so they can appeal to peoples better sides. Definitely think the money should be put into some sort of secure fund so all of Alan's many new friends can't get there scabby hands on the money.

In five posts the British people have gone from this to fraudulent scumbags.

On a more serious note,
Maybe he could donate some to the Charity for the Blind.

The donations were generously given to this man to help him. It was not donated to a committee of people who think they know best what to do with the money. Alan, who lived independently, has already closed the appeal and has said he will take advice. Why do other people think they know best? Like giving a Christmas present then telling the receiver how to use it. So what, if his family eventually inherits, his sister obviously loves and supports him.
