Free access this weekend to find my past

Postby olive » Sat Jan 23, 2016 6:05 pm

It is a .co.uk website. I have no connection but normally costs abot £100 a year. Free 22nd to 25Jan.

Might be useful to someone on here.

Thanks Olive  I traced my family tree some years ago, not bothered with it for years. Just been searching old newspapers on the site and it has really put meat on the bones. Not earth shattering stuff but engagement announcements, one on the local Council who was a bit gobby and one who went walkabouts a turned up 10 days later :) full description of him with eye colour etc. Also a photo of one killed in WW1. Going to print them all.

Reminds me of the story of the rich Irish American who spent $1 million investigating his family tree..

And then spent $2 million, trying to hush it up !

My husbands led me to Aushwitz and Buchenvald too sad, particularly at this present time
