Wow..

1.22 as I write. Seems we will be in some kind of Limbo until the "in" vote wins.

I think that the £ may settle around €1.28 until around the Breixt vote.

If the UK votes OUT then things could get very negative for awhile until things sort themselves out - however, if the vote is IN, then I would expect the £ to climb dramatically in the short term against the €.

My daughter was in the post office 2 weeks ago and the assistant behind the desk told her the rate would get worse and not to be surprised if the pound went below the euro by this summer...Just pure speculation and scare mongering.

Let's wait and see shall we. No one knows what will happened if we Brexit but it will be a mess initially. It might be best if we saved some Euros now so we don't need to exchange any money just after the vote. Just in case ...

How is that scaremongering? It's an opinion.

Yes, it's an opinion. No one knows what's going to happen about anything — ever. I'm even unsure, most days, what will be for dinner and what time we will get it. Some people are natural pessimists and some people more positive. My opinion is ... I don't really know what is happening to the pound as I never have any idea what it's doing anyway. I should have because then I can save a few pounds or euros but ... I don't know. All I know is it goes up and down — like my soufflés.

No Mark....It was scaremongering my daughter to change more money while she was there...its their job to make sales where they can.

In the post office? I'm surprised they even bothered to speak.

Seems there is a bit more scaremongering going on at the moment.

People are buying, just in case Brexit actually happens, and we could be looking at 1.10 / 1.15

It hit 1.32 today all off the back of the latest polls. If there are a few more good results for Remain you could be right.

Just after a month today, I would hope both the £ and the stock market will have a timely boost after the Remain vote is home and dry.

Just like it was a couple of years back with no Brexit to worry about.

The GBP dropped over a cent this afternoon - another crash? Perhaps not, it actually went up significantly against the USD, but the EUR went up even more which shows the GBP dropping against the Euro.

That tends to demonstrate that the GBP/EUR rate is really dependent on what each currency does against the USD, rather than a direct relationship between the GBP and the EUR.

There is no doubt that the GBP will crash with Brexit, but that would be against the USD. Brexit would also affect the EUR significantly downwards against the USD so the end result for GBP/EUR might just balance out - we will see!

The experts think the EUR/GBP will improve soon, it's all very clear from this chart. :lolno: :lolno:

But it does, doesn't it? You can get it in the Luna Lidl.
