Good to watch

Postby Evelyn » Sun Jan 22, 2017 7:36 pm

Not sure if this is the right place to post. Just watched the film Denial....truly worth a watch, very moving and poignant. Found it on Exodus on Kodi.

Agreed, its an absolutely well crafted film, and as you say very moving. Great acting and a great script, deals with the subject matter with great understanding and sensitivity. Well worth watching

Sounds interesting. See it is 'Negacion' in Spanish. Our local has 14 screens here so hopefully it will come round soon.

Tonight we saw "Figuras Ocultas" (Hidden Figures). Was excellent and my spanish family enjoyed it as much as me. There is good humour in its handling of Civil rights in early 60s America set against NASA and the space race. Great actors and we chose it because it had a rating of 8.1, and it was that good.

Both excellent films and 100% worth watching. For a great British film with humour, soul and emotion and not a swear word in sight "A Street Cat Named Bob". A true story...go check the trailer on youtube.

Hope "A Street Cat Named Bob" is on when my niece comes down from Madrid at Easter. She'll love it. Cheers for that Paul

Thanks for the tip.
Here's another good one: The People v Fritz Bauer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4193400/?ref_=nv_sr_3
In German, so most will probably need to find a subtitled version of it.

Just got back from seeing it at the Cinema in El Ingenio.
A very enjoyable film, worth seeing.
Saw La La Land, the multi award winning and tipped for multi Oscars winning film, last week.
Rather disappointed with that film.

Couldn't possibly have been worse than Birdman?

Fully agree Gerry La La Land most disappointing ...totally overhyped. But look out for "Manchester by the Sea" which more than lives up to all its praise

Just watched Fences. I think Denzel Washington has been nominated for an award, but again, rather disappointing. I can see the original play might have been good, but for me an academy nomination almost puts me off these days. 12 Years a Slave was another disappointment for me.

Very good film indeed. What device do you use for Kodi? And any info on who you use for your Broadband in La Cala gratefully received (speeds, costs etc) as will shortly be moving to that area??
Thanks

Can't help you with Internet as I am no longer in the area. I have installed SPMC and the add ons I use. Exodus, Specto, SALTS, and Velocity which are basic addons. Then I have a couple of builds as well. Get more or less everything I want.

My Son didn't enjoy La La land either. I tend to enjoy most oscar nominated films, someone mentioned Birdland which was an exception and I agree.
Denial looks good. I might looK for it on Kodi tonight.

The only problem with some of the newer films is a Movie Camera is often used to film it directly from a screen and are poor quality.
