You could do what they do in portugal and legalise it.

Over 900 ppl have been arrested for not obeying the lockdown in spain so theres obviously alot of people who arent "scared" of the guardia. Respect works both ways. Its not a given its earned.If the police etc dont treat ppl fairly and respectfully then the general public will not work with them. And the only way to lower crime and form better societies is when groups of ppl work together ie the police and the public. And in order to do that both sides have to feel like they are been treated fairly and with respect by the other. You cant beat the crap out of someone then expect them to respect and work with you.it just creates resentment and a breakdown where people who are supposed to be working together are fighting each other instead. You only have to look the relationship between the black community in the uk through the 70's onwards with the police as an example of that.

You show respect and gain peoples trust then you are working together its not rocket science.unfortunatly the police and security services do attract the type of ppl who like to throw their wait around. Its the nature of the beast. But as someone who worked in such an industry a prime example was catching theives in a venue by working with the public. We had a good relationship with the public to the point they knew they could come to us if they needed help. They didnt feel like they were been looked down on because someone had power over them.when they spotted something suspicious they came foward and we caught the person. That wouldnt have happened if we hadnt shown them respect and made them feel like they could approach us if they needed help in the first place.

Its amazing how you gain the respect of kids on a council estate who are told they are worthless and eyed with suspicion before they even get out of the door when you treat them with respect and not someone that will amount to nothing. In most (not all) cases you then get that back

Spain is knee deep in drugs and drug dealing, it will take more than the guardia civil to control that so i doubt if Spain hasn't got their drugs problem under control then that kind of policing isn't going to get it under control in the Uk either.

I'm in lockdown in Axarquia and am really struggling to find the hard and fast rules with regard to what you can and can't do. I keep hearing only one person per car. Not allowed to walk one dog, one person further than 150 metres from your home. etc, etc..

I would have thought that the Ayuntamiento website would have a list of the rules that you must abide by, but I see nothing. Our local facebook group seems unable to help and what info there is, often contradicts. Are all the rules the same nationwide?

Is there anywhere I can get the facts? The last thing I need is a €750 fine for walking my dogs!

The Government has emphasized that people who have dogs can take them out for a walk to cover their needs but only one person, never two or more people and appealing to citizen responsibility for distance apart.

This means that the duration of these walks, although there is no established norm, should be the usual one but close to your home. It is not allowed to go to the other area of your town or city to be able to go outside. Nor go two by two to walk the dog for company. You have to be aware and responsible.

In addition, they should prioritize times of less influx of people (such as at night) and have no contact with other animals or people.

Thanks for that info. I have a dangerous, narrow, winding mountain road at the bottom of my drive with wide, open mountain tracks just a couple of kms away. Frustrating..

You can walk your dog near your house. We live in the campo and walk our dog on the same campo lanes we have been walking him for years. I checked with the Ayuntamiento and the Guardia. The rule is clear. One person walks the dog near the house/home, once or twice a day. No socialising and that goes for the dogs, as well.
