Just over 0,5% of reports resulted in the payment of a fine.

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
My friends near Granada have been desperate to get out of the province to come down to Nerja and meet up with us and other friends. Their town was closed due to having over 500 cases per 100k though, so not sure if that's still in force this week. Granada region seems to have high figures for some reason. I expect the Costa will be busy this weekend with all that pent up demand for the Cordobians to come down to their weekend apartments. It's good that things are opening up a bit.

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
Does it mean that people in Andalucia will be able to travel all over Andalucia regardless of whether they have high numbers of cases in some areas?

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
No. If a town has a municipal closure due to over 500 cases no one is allowed in or out. The lifting of the provincial borders does not change that.

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
my municipal is in this situation at the moment. The cases are quite high again here. Since coming back from the Easter break it's now 5 of my students and if all members of the family are included, that makes 16, who have come down with Covid. We are a little worried about one parent because he can't kick his fever.
One thing coming up on the Horizon is the end of the state of emergency so we will have to see what that will mean. Last I heard was the government are reluctant to renew it so that might mean that all restrictions will end anyway.

The latest town that are in lockdown. I wonder why the numbers are so high in Granada? They always seem to have by far the largest number of closures. What goes on there I wonder

Probably more sociable and less aware! Normally on Mayday everyone goes “ to the country” and has a nice time. Typically thousands of folk, a family under each tree. Picnic, then wandering around chatting to people they haven’t seen for at least a week! We have just had San Marco. Big in the Genil valleey. Lots of gatherings in campo properties celebrating work on olives drawing to a close.
Seriously, I don’t know.

Students and pollution are sighted as factors unique to Granada city and of course the catetos can come to the city and bring Covid home to their pueblo.

Had to look up cateto. I won’t be using it!

Came up as 'leg' in Galician ....
Much the same here Olive in the campo. Mass gatherings and generations of the families have always come up here during Covid. There's been a few parties down the hill from us with about 8 cars outside, but perhaps it's on a smaller scale here.

Cateto...is a term of endearment. It is used widely in Spain to describe someone from a rural area or small town. Nobody is offended by it.
The closest English phrase is maybe country bumpkin
I guess it comes down to language use. In Spanish we would have no problem to call someone you know well by guapo or guapa, but maybe in English you wouldn't say hello handsome or hello gorgeous.

At my age I'd be very happy to be called any of those terms.Paddy Pumpkin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 6:27 pm

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
Have heard it used a lot to old women too. I think of it as the equivalent of the UK's Love. Although that's out too.
I have had a bit of attention with a mask on. Younger guys chit chatting would probably been ignored before. Will have to keep the mask
