Ho olive,
You can work it out from the following link............Looking at the Big Dipper at 04:00 the other night I'd say viewing Leo constellation was in NE direction.
https://earthsky.org/constellations/leo ... tellation/
Have a read through this one..................for relation to Big Dipper.

Not a good position from my house but will put camera out ....thanks for heads up.......

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
Re: Leonid meteor shower
When I was in Spain I found it best in the few hours just before dawn. Some left smoke!

Thanks
Re: Leonid meteor shower
Limited success!
Went out last night armed with this info and a free app ( starchart) . Very bright moonlit night so difficult to make out the stars. However located the dippers and thus Regulus. With that a bright meteorite streaked across the sky! Kept watching for a while but no more.

What time was that Olive? It was a very bright moon last night and I think we had a bit of cloud cover when I was closing up for bed.
Re: Leonid meteor shower
About midnight. There was so much light from the moon that it was like daylight!
